I have my deposit down with my Porsche dealer for the Gen 2 GT3
But worried that I will be buying a car that will instantly worth more than I paid for it
Maybe I should cancel now !

Hahaha, silly me.

Yep, cancel. We should not send LOI or deposits, thus then, this would radicate pricings.

These threads are just as pointless, if more so than the thread intended to mock, give it a rest!!!

Surely we are not going to go through this all again with the next GT3?

Is it still possible to order a new GT3? If so is there a cap on the volume and what is the waiting time from deposit until delivery?

They take your letter of intent (for a possible Gen2), and some may take a deposit off you too.

Just ring up and ask your local OPC. The procedure of LOI differ, some take just the LOI and others will want a cheque included ready to cash if your choice of car is definitely going to come in to production.

I was meant to do a LOI and cheque for a Gen2 RS, but have not done it yet.

It's all irrelevant though. When the car is released they will find out how many they are allocated and decide who gets one. LOIs or deposits mean nothing.

or you get invited to put an order in.

OPC don't need your deposit on a GT3 until you spec., many others will fill your spot.

Well it appears that a lot took 10k straight away.

Yep, of course the list is just that and doesn't go by its order. But I would still get the LOI in, along with other details of the deal ( if you know what I mean )...

I have an LOI in but they dont want my 10k until the cars are announced.
My dealer had i think 13 Gen 1 GT3's.

918, current GT car customers all come first leaving the poor feckers like me last on the list. I'm doubtful but I might be lucky.
The other side of the coin is that Gen 1 GT3 values will instantly fall when the Gen 2 car appears making it a better buy than it is now at 130k - I hope!

Question is, when will the Gen 2 appear?

I've got an LOI in for the next gen GT3, but I fully expect the above to be true. The only chance I think I'd have of getting one would be because when I ordered my BGTS from them it was a no nonsense, instant decision, high spec cash purchase (although for the GT3 I'd probably finance some of it I think) i.e. I'd be an easy customer likely to make them more money than average on options

They'll see you as better customer if you finance a lot more of it! wink
