Hey all

Have seen a nice car at Porsche Belfast and am wondering if it's easy to bring it in to England?

Are there any repercussions regarding future saleability?

Cheers
Jack

I saw a nearly new GtS Cayman advertised there for £53.5k which seemed very cheap and wondered is there any tax to pay!

Porsche Belfast are part of the Sytner group now. Can they not sort transport for you?

and haggle hard they will do a deal.

Then again a quick flight to Belfast, do a few tourist things, pick the car up then get the ferry back. Nice wee trip.

No idea....

I live here there is no difference in tax whatsoever. None even the registration is done at Swansea now.

Only difference here is MOT. Not until the cars 4th year and only at a government run test center (when in N.I).

Everything else is the same.

^^^^This. Well worth investigating buying from here. Plenty of firms that can ship the car over for you too, but I'd suggest coming over. Nothing like a good road trip to bond with a car!

This. NI is a great place to go touring, take the coast road West from Larne and keep going.

As for the pricing, NI is not exactly heaving with cash so they probably need to price the cars more competitively.

I'm dealing with Ben Simpson at OPC Belfast for my new RS. I've found Belfast excellent in the past and the Dealer Principal Carl Russell is a gentleman. Highly recommended. And as others have said, Belfast is a wonderful vibrant city and there are some great driving roads around. The Park Inn by Radisson is good and central, opposite the Europa and has an underground car park.
Depending where you live in UK Holyhead - Dublin Port then a two hour drive to Belfast.

Probably because people ask questions like the OPs...

Seriously - at the peak of the Irish property boom Belfast OPC couldn't get product out the door fast enough - every property mogul had a 997 or a Cayenne. The NI economy, being part of the U.K but very dependent on the ROI economy has totally tanked (property especially so) and now shifting a used Porsche is a very tough job - with reticence from mainland buyers due to the location and perceived hassle, prices are generally more competitive.

I followed my own advice - bought a 987 over there, trip back to Glasgow pretty painless and spent a day driving the Antrim coast road. Well worth the effort. In fact an awful lot easier than the time I bought a car in Dorset!

Belfast OPC are a top line dealership. Great to deal with, if the car interests you jump on a flight and go check it out.
The cars they sell are always competitively priced.

I bought my 991 from them last year without seeing the car in the flesh. I dealt with Ben and asked for more photos and a guarantee that the car was immaculate, we agreed a price and they even delivered it to me. I was more than happy when the car arrived.

The car in question - white GTS with 150 miles or so had practically no added spec - it was non-metallic white with standard GTS wheels, a manual and I think the only cost extra was dual zone climate.

Most of the cars that are more expensive have PCM, PDK and the GTS interior package, which accounts for a good proportion of your 20%.

I don't want to be rude, as there's far too much of that on here as it is, but would this unusually low spec not have been obvious from the information on the used car locator or in the advertisement?

The car jumped out of the OPC stock list when I checked it, which I often do, as I live here in Northern Ireland, but when I saw how basic it was I left it be.
