In a pickle... 991 Carrera S vs 997.2 Turbo
Discussion
Some interesting views, but I know I'm looking for a PDK.
My current daily which the Turb will be replacing is a DSG GTD Golf and I've got used to the lazy, hassle free commute.
Don't get me wrong, I love manual cars. All the great 'track' focussed cars I've owned have been manuals... Mini GP etc. But, this car will barely see the track, other than a couple of ring trips I've got planned in it. Hopefully the speed of the box will more than surpass my brother old F430 F1...!

Because it's the better gearbox FOR ME It makes the best of the cars powertrain, gives the best of both worlds with the paddles, has launch control (its fun!), and generally makes the car more accessible 90% of the time, and therefore easier to exploit and more fun. It also means my other half can enjoy the car, and I don't have to worry about it getting over-revved with a mis-change. Then there's the cool downshifts, and perfect up shifts, the increase in performance it brings, which as I'm not a driving god, makes me feel like one. The car is supposed to be a fun thing is it not? Then you add in its my DD, so I do 100 miles a day, often in heavy traffic and I can just listen to the music and watch the world go be serenely in traffic, and then unleash the forces of hell in the small windows of opportunity that arise - If you want more I'm happy to keep going........You can stick to your manual, and tell all your cheese-cloth wearing, real-ale drinking, morris dancing mates all about your most recent perfect left-foot braking heroics

It certainly will! I've had Ferrari F1, and the marmite-esque SMGII in my e60 M5 and the PDK is just a class apart! It's perfect for a DD.My current daily which the Turb will be replacing is a DSG GTD Golf and I've got used to the lazy, hassle free commute.

i got my 997.2 turbo cab, 29k miles 2 weeks ago for a good price, I am still smiling and cant wait for the weekends so I can drive it.
991 is lovely car too, but the turbo has something special about it.
Im aiming to sell next 12 months too and PX for a range rover as family isn't fitting as well in this as I hoped so hopefully wont lose to much BUT seen Porsche in Chester has one for less than 60k now!

It's less than £60k because it's red (and 45k on the clock). It would be at least 5k more if it was a more popular colour. So long as yours isn't red I wouldn't worry.991 is lovely car too, but the turbo has something special about it.

Still looking for a Gen2 Turbo.
Had my heart set on an Atlas Grey one, lined up to view/take away the next day and it sold that afternoon, gutted. Doesn't seem to be much coming online!
I've got a low mileage gen 2 turbo in Atlas grey with Factory Aero kit, RS Spyder alloys and carbon fibre interior trim pannels.Had my heart set on an Atlas Grey one, lined up to view/take away the next day and it sold that afternoon, gutted. Doesn't seem to be much coming online!
Love the car, however debating whether to sell to fund a new business venture. Car is being serviced at OPC on Friday and will be putting a 2 year OPC warranty on the car.
Will let you know if I decide to sell.
