Do your front windows go down fully?

I've just had both regulators replaced, and the windows now work very smoothly, however the glass doesn't drop fully out of sight, and I'm sure they did before.

Can anyone confirm what theirs do?

Hi,
They certainly should descend fully. Mine do.

Thanks, that's what I thought. Is yours a 996.1 coupe?

The regulators are the same as for a 986 boxster.

The boxster glass isn't as tall as 996 glass, so doesn't descend as far.

There is a plastic bung or clip you need to remove from the regulator, this will allow your window to descend fully.

Whip the door card off again and you will see it in the slider part, no need to take the regulator out again.

You want to remove the top stop - sometimes they are screwed in. Its obvious when you get the door car off and drop the window.

Thanks chaps.
was8v - very helpful. I guess it's probably a common part between boxster and 996, and the garage has probably just left in the other stop.
