Greater unusable performance.....more detached driving experience..... higher price..........

Whats not to like?

biggrin:
Hmmm, apart from the small issues you've highlighted hehe there's the small matter of this :

There's something not right about that, I can't quite put my finger on it, so just give me a second to think about it .....

Ah yes, got it now...

It's utterly f*cking grotesque hurlhurlhurlhurl

To be fair you picked the cab which has been the worse looking 911 turbo of every generation - always lopsided and ill proportioned IMHO

Agree with Stuttgart7737, for me the turbo peaked in 997 guise so will hang on to my nice manual example. If money was no object I would buy a 997 turbo s not a 991 turbo, impressive though I am sure it is

A 991 Turbo S is a monster on the track, the experience is simple breathtaking. Four wheel drifts out of Pouhon Spa a particular highlight, those things are just sensational on the track and a delight to drive the 6 hours back to UK.
It's easy to turn your nose up at these cars when you don't know what they can really do.

I would take a 991 Turbo S over an Exige S to Spa/Ring.

So what in my post caused such a stuffy response? Responding to the suggestion that the Turbo S lacked 'soul'? Or generally disagreeing with you?

I wonder if the point of the 991.2 Carrera is rear-wheel drive. I'd certainly be interested in something that could be tuned to 500hp and sent power only to the back.

Agree about this Turbo feeling like a stop-gap though...

I think it's important for everyone to accept that there are shades of grey.

If you used a car on track a lot, a Turbo S would be a very expensive car to run and ultimately doesn't require enough of the driver to be a compelling track day car - in my opinion! However, if you do a handful of days on track a year and want to monster everyone, i can see the appeal.

For what it's worth, i would argue an Exige asks far more of the driver and is therefore a much more compelling proposition. I would however hate to drive one back to Blighty.

Easy, get a 991 Turbo S and hitch a trailer to it and tow the Elise to the track biggrin

The Exige on a track is certainly good fun, spoilt somewhat by the ridiculesly crap gearshift, and the drive home from any far away track is just plain horrible. The Turbo S only comes alive when pushed hard, really hard, but it does come alive. Shod in Cup 2 rubber it can eat a GT3 and still have enough room for an Exige desert.
Many people say that if you could only have one car to rule them all, and one only, you would pick a Turbo S, and I would whole heartedly agree with that. It can do everything really really well.

TBF the 991 t knocks the spots of the 997 t in every single dept and so it should at £160k. Its an unbelievable package.

Still love the 997 t though - manual, mezger and its still far too quick for our roads thumbup

991.2 Tts is £146k.

Overpriced imo....the Mclaren 675 looks more interesting at this sort of money.

Mr Pot, meet Mr Kettle.

If as it seems, all you're looking for is a bout of verbal fisticuffs, why not head down to your local watering hole at chucking out time on a Saturday night, it'll be just as fun (and worthwhile) as your usual MO on here, plus you'll get the added bonus of meeting some real individuals ready and willing to engage with you on the level you're seeking.

Nope, spec a 540 to TTS levels & you'll hit 145k easily smile

I spoke to a McL dealer yesterday and a 570S with a normal spec will be £160K, that is without going mad on carbon.

Has that been lowered? Looks epic.
