My brother in law discovered he had been sold a re-shell Orange 997 GT3RS from a dealer in Lincolnshire. It went back to the dealer earlier this year. So any Orange GT3RS for sale, especially in Lincolnshire, should be very careful inspected.

Agreed, and at that time the absolute best low mileage provenanced car was mid to late 80's.

I've been flirting with getting out of an X50 993 Turbo into one of these for a while but can't keep pace with the market, of either car !

I wonder if that cheaper car is the one withdrawn from auction recently ?

I agree - is the cheaper one the one that was pulled out of the Silverstone Auction (because it was outed on here as accident damaged?)

I think the Silverstone auction GT3 was a standard black 997.1:

Not sure which Orange RS we're talking about - but it might be indexed here:

If it is the re-shelled car, what is it worth?

whether reshelled or original ... these are depreciating assets... or at least in side the next 2 years they will be.

For a re-shell 997.1 GT3 RS with GT seats I would pay about £55k give or take. It would be an opportunity to get a usable GT3 to be honest rather than be constrained by the value through use/abuse.

It bugs me how many repaired cars are data check clear and hold value when cat D cars are considered undesirable.

As much as I wish that figure was realistic, I can't see that's ever going to happen. I imagine the car would break for more that that.
