I just sold my 2014 GT3 comfort spec with 5k miles to a main dealer for 110k. It is only now that I have had the time to look at the prices online and I see they are being priced well above this. I know the dealer has to make money on this, but I think now that I have let it go really cheap. I just wondered what you guys think about this price? Did I sell to cheap?

Presume you're a WUM?

Otherwise why wouldn't you have read up/looked up prior to selling?

It's a fair price at this time of the year. At the end of the day the dealer has to assume they will have the car until the spring of 2016 (£110k tied up for a few months), also, you have just had pretty much a free drive of a of a GT3 as comfort spec cars were around £110k list new.

You were offered a price, you were happy with it so accepted. Move on. Don't let what might have been worry you.

Sounds a fair enough price to me given time of year, amount of those cars currently for sale and that its been free motoring for you for what 2 yrs?
You could have bought a mclaren and done your ass in that time so be grateful !

Depends what you paid for it I guess?

Just out of interest, why did you sell?

Yes, you sold it cheap

Depending on spec it could have sold on PH for £10k more (probably with 24 hours)

However you may have had to put up with a load of time wasters, annoying calls and general grief

Only you can decide if the price of the easy sale was worth the c10% discount.

Did you get a price from more than one dealer ???

Thanks guys for all your feedback. Sounds about right price then as it was nice and simple to sell back to my OPC.
Reason I sold was that I am out of London for the next 6 to 9 months and the car would have sat in my garage all this time, so it made since to sell. Was an amazing car and sad to see it go, but I hope to get a gen 2.
What is a WUN?

If you did sell for that then it makes the GT4's for sale look terribly over priced.

Not really......you are not comparing like with like. Ones a trade bid the other retail. Furthermore the Gt3 is almost 2 years old compared to new GT4 with 5k mileage difference. The GT3 has supercar performance almost too fast for the road for many wheras the Gt4 is more junior supercar with accessible performance for everyone hence it winning Ecoty beating even the RS and new Mclaren.

By coincidence, the latest GT4 just sold in a matter of hours from OPC Silverstone at £110k.ap.

The answer to this is simple - if you want to sell to a dealer for reasons of security and simplicity then the "correct" price is easy enough to find - ring around 3 or 4 dealers - let them know you are doing this and ask them to bid for the car if interested - this way you'll know where the market is at this particular moment in time . If you can be bothered then play one off against another .

There is only one useful rule when buying or selling anything and that is the one above - I don't mean to cause offence , but I find it astounding that people just buy or sell from the first person when they are dealing in a non unique commodity - however , if this just isn't important to you and you place more value on your time , then what you've done is fine - each to their own - but if you want financial value out of a transaction , I'm afraid your approach is not a good one - sorry smile

Hi,
Rather than sell it direct to the OPC, I might have considered having them sell it on my behalf and them taking a cut. Might have got a bit more that way?

Yes it was the blue one, I did not get any other prices, but am happy enought with what I got, considering most of the comments. It was hassle free and only took about 2 hours of my time. As John said above, I have had a cost free run in a brilliant car for the last18 months.

Exactly that: you've won in every way that matters, regardless of what others may say to the contrary.

I sold my comfort spec Dec 13, 9330 miles, £122k list to a dealer last month for £120k, I had a good 20 months motoring, used the car most days for general use. All round best car I have owned, and I was happy with the price.
