I sold my comfort spec Dec 13, 9330 miles, £122k list to a dealer last month for £120k, I had a good 20 months motoring, used the car most days for general use. All round best car I have owned, and I was happy with the price.
A similar car at Porsche Mayfair for £135 k , might give an indication of the mark up used on cars that retail,at that sort of price.Buster73 said:

Why?
It has never been an issue since being fixed......if it had been they wouldn t have gone up to c £170k and currentlynstill be selling over list.
"It has never been an issue since being fixed." Really? Not what other owners report - including those who have had their replacement engine replaced. May be fixed now - hopefully - but not a confidence inspiring start given how few miles most cars have done.It has never been an issue since being fixed......if it had been they wouldn t have gone up to c £170k and currentlynstill be selling over list.

Given the car has a warranty (that can now be extended until the 15th year it seems), i wonder why anyone would really care. I have one, and it's never entered my mind as a concern.

I just sold my 2014 GT3 comfort spec with 5k miles to a main dealer for 110k. It is only now that I have had the time to look at the prices online and I see they are being priced well above this. I know the dealer has to make money on this, but I think now that I have let it go really cheap. I just wondered what you guys think about this price? Did I sell to cheap?
You sold an asset worth over a hundred bags without actually checking what it's market worth is?Wind up.
Maybe he's loaded and would rather forego a ballache for the sake of a few grand?
There isn't a single GT3 for sale privately in the classfieds. If people still think they are getting way over list for their cars, they are kidding themselves. The elevated prices are down to dealers needing to make a margin; the actually owner isn't making much.

£20k markup by the dealer, OP you've been ripped off over well and truly.
Not really.Yes its a £20k markup but at £129k they will be attracting bids of nearer £120k even on this car especially having regard to the time of year. Factor in dealers required margins (London clearly highest in UK) VAT stocking costs px etc etc and a net profit of c£6k would be realistic.

I think the OP did fine and if he's happy then good for him. He has a relationship with a dealer, they bid a fair price in his mind. Maybe when he's back in the Porsche market they will look on him favourably - what goes around comes around.

Sweeping generalisation there. No mention of it on Rennlist (a huge Porsche forum). There's sticky thread with more than half a million views yet nothing dedicated to this problematic engine you speak of?

You misunderstand me. I was replying to a sweeping generalisation that there have "never" been any issues since the first debacle was fixed. Not so. One poster on here - at least - is on his third engine, and there has been a subsequent valve train recall for others. Let's hope that is the end of it. But given most cars have done less than 10K, only time will tell. Seems a fair summary to me. I love the car and not knocking it, just suggesting that it has hardly got off to a good start engine wise.Given the car has a warranty (that can now be extended until the 15th year it seems), i wonder why anyone would really care. The engine issue is the stinker in this edition of the GT3.

I really hope they are all ok now as id love one in the future but I continue to lurk.

This is spot on. I think 110k is sensible bid. I can't see any dealers paying top dollar at this time of year when they could be holding it for a few months.

Yes this was part of my thinking. Have bought a few cars form this dealer now and will be back to them very soon I hope.I think the OP did fine and if he's happy then good for him. Sure maybeI could have got 120k from someone else, but as you say - what goes around.
