The engine issue is the stinker in this edition of the GT3.
Why?

It has never been an issue since being fixed......if it had been they wouldn t have gone up to c £170k and currently still be selling over list.
No hard feelings but the second engines fitted to the 991 GT3 have had failures. What is more important is that upon looking at 991 GT3 at the front of my OPC for sale recently around the back was a 991 GT3 I know was on its second engine sat without it fitted and in bits in the workshop. even if the car does have warranty its not much use when you dont have your toy to enjoy in the peak of the season as its hardly going to fail in winter when its wrapped up.

I really hope they are all ok now as id love one in the future but I continue to lurk.
Have to say I agree with Nige. Not knocking the cars as I too would love one one day, but its the confidence in the engine that's been knocked, on that I can't see an awful lot of room for debate. However, they still appear to be commanding around list at trade-in which is pretty good going still, so all's not that bad ;-)

This is spot on. I think 110k is sensible bid. I can't see any dealers paying top dollar at this time of year when they could be holding it for a few months.

I think the OP did fine and if he's happy then good for him. He has a relationship with a dealer, they bid a fair price in his mind. Maybe when he's back in the Porsche market they will look on him favourably - what goes around comes around.
Yes this was part of my thinking. Have bought a few cars form this dealer now and will be back to them very soon I hope.
Sure maybeI could have got 120k from someone else, but as you say - what goes around.
I think its a fair price for this time of year, Don.

Would it have made more if the OP had stored it for the 6 months he was going to be away? (just wondered?)

Unbelievable!!! You've been ripped off by this dealer and you want to go back and buy more cars?

I don’t see it as being ripped off. I got back what I paid for the car and had a cost free run in a fantastic car. In my business, I always try to leave something for the next man and this has always worked for me. I am happy with what I got (as a package)and now someone else will get to enjoy the car.

That's a great attitude to have and if you had sold it to a private owner that would make sense but instead you sold it to a vulture dealer. Everyone has to make a living but ripping people off isn't right.

How much do you think the dealer should make on this car?

As has been explained already, allowing for some negotiation room plus costs, a likely 5-10% profit margin doesn't appear excessive.

Sensible attitude to life - and business.

EVO dropped through my box today. Interesting they mention may not be a 991.2 GT3.

I certainly hope they don't make one, being an existing owner.

They should just make a GT2 to take on the new McLarens and 488 Fez.

Considering most have been for sale for a very long time I think you have negotiated a good deal.

Bloody brilliant , especially after all the stick you got on the GT3 price thread - you were very restrained - I would have gone straight on there and told all those posters who were so rude where to go - you are a better man than me smile
