I don't understand why the 997.2 is going up in value and the 997.1 is stagnant (or going down) .....Going by current trends there will come a point where the gen 2 car is over £120k and the gen 1 is around £75k
TBF, makes no more or less 'sense' than the fact a 996 GT3 is very similarly priced to 997.1 GT3. It's all in the experience and the reputation I guess.Porsche911R said:
I think the right cars are speeding up and sell within hours.
CS cars imo are not the big sellers, yes maybe on forums people seem to uptalk CS pack, but out in the real world of car buyers, most don't want CS pack cars, you can see that with how most 991 GT3 and GT4 were speced, my OPC only selling one CS car and 6 normal GT4's.
the 997.2 GT3 non CS pack with leather sold in a few hours at full list at JZM the GT4 CS and the 997.2 CS have been for sale 3 or 4 weeks.
the OPC car you said was £145k which was £128k ;-) also NON CS pack and sold within a day, was a mega looking very high spec low miles car though.
what is slowing down and dropping is 996 GT3 and 997.1 GT3 prices.
I think 997.2 GT3 will go up in price still and the RS's well rare as hens teeth JZM selling both there's in hours at list !
Was it 128k sorry my mistake but yes it was an awesome looking thing with the carbon extras but i thought that was a CS car not a comfort spec???. I'm amazed that comfort cars are selling faster if thats right. It might be because they're cheaper?CS cars imo are not the big sellers, yes maybe on forums people seem to uptalk CS pack, but out in the real world of car buyers, most don't want CS pack cars, you can see that with how most 991 GT3 and GT4 were speced, my OPC only selling one CS car and 6 normal GT4's.

I persoanlly dont see the point of a comfort spec GT3! You might as well buy something else but thats just me.
996 GT3 are a relative bargain, 7.1's are about 10k more expensive. I really do think that the 996 GT3 Gen 1 will be a very valuable car one day as its the original.
I'd have a 7.2 over a 7.1 any day, looks better, 3.8 and has a nicer interior, the silver plastic in the Gen 1 puts me off a little.
There is definitely something to be said for the 997 GT3 being last of the manual and metzger though...
I went to see the red CS GT3 at JZM sat, it's a very nice clean car and has the nicer slimmer fixed GT full carbon buckets.
I think that will sell quick, but who knows, it was getting a lot of interest Sat for sure.
But I have decided to keep my GT4 or go all out on the 997.2 GT3 RS.
I think the GT4 makes a nicer car to use day to day than the normal gen 2 GT3, but that's just me.
ON track then the 997.2 CS GT3 would be a nicer thing.
the RS, well I have no words they look amazing imo and of course the shorter ratio's
but how long before all 997.2 RS are £200k !
let also think that a 991.2 GT3 might be manual and out next year !

Very stupid question probably but how do you find out the actual selling prices in the market for GT3s - simply call up the dealer post-sale?
You could do but the asking price won't be far of the price achieved in most cases... Dealers won't be giving away much of their profit if they can help it..Also if a car sells quickly from a dealer for example JZM sell in a few days then you can be sure its not been discounted much. Cars that have been there for a while might have more movement in them for obvious reasons

Dealer will simply tell you it either went for list or close to it - last thing they will do is tell you it went for loads less - doesn't help them shift the next car for full margin otherwise 90% of cars advertised at , ermmm, so called ''Specialists'' are on SOR , and a vast percentage are never sold and returned to their owners.
Ditto same at European Dealerships with specialist GT3 and RS ---------- and a lot are badly damaged/ repaired , and being sold on behalf of long standing customers
We inspected one at a Porsche dealership near Paris and it had been totalled !! And another at Porsche near Cologne, ditto
