Looks stunning. Congratulations. I can see hats in Glasgow. Are you coming along to the west coast PCGB club night at OPC Glasgow on Tuesday?
Looks stunning, and I love the silver wheels. If only Porsche offered a better wheel selection on the 991 GTS.....

Great to see these gts cars coming though in the flesh. I am anxiously awaiting my paint to sample gts Targa - in oak green metallic with gts interior in silver stitching. It's going to be fantastic. I have until August to wait though!

That's a pain.

Not sure if the GTS got a June price rise, but wonder what that means for you if it was?
I was under impression cars completed before end of May won't be subject to price rise so interesting to see how they handle delayed cars...

FYI ref prices rises: when I ordered my car BGTS a bit over 2 years ago, the OPC tried to charge me £1k extra shortly before collection as the list price had gone up. I pointed out that their own contract that we'd both signed said they had to give me 2 weeks written notice (before the rise date I think) in order to give me the chance to cancel the order and get all my money back. When I pointed this out and said that just presenting me with an updated order form with the new numbers a few days before I was due to do factory collection did not constitute 2 weeks written notice etc, we swiftly came to an agreement which meant I was unaffected by the price rise.

Moral of the story: read your contract and if the OPC has not given the notice in the stipulated manner, refuse to pay it. Or at least get them to give you good and services to the value of the price rise FoC.

I've just emailed them asking the question re price increase..

But not expecting a very quick response, my experience so far has not been what I would expect at this price point.

I've been less than impressed by the generally apathetic service I've received as well. I can't help but feeling that due to high demand for some models there is little incentive for the sales staff to make much of an effort (and I don't mean kiss my arse, just responding to emails in a timely manner would be a start).

I'm expecting delivery in July and, after the experience so far, a delay would have me cancelling. If a delay led to an increase in price, I'd definitely be walking (it won't for me, I'm already paying the post increase price!).

What's the lead time on these. I have one on order but I might have to travel much more towards the end of the year and therefore rendering the "daily" aspect of it largerly irrelevant.

Do I keep the order which is scheduled for delivery for late June. And eventually sell in September if my travelling abroad materialises. Or will I take an absolute bath and better cancel straight off ?

I would most definitely cancel. New car for 2 months you will lose a fair bit. Might be better going for a 991.1 GTS for short term. I think your money would do better there if you are focused on not losing a ton of money.

Doesn't that depend on the demand, there may well be someone out there who want instant gratification!

You appear to have the same dealer as me, lol. this exactly my thoughts, 3 days to answer an email, no routine updates since order placed etc etc

3 days? I wish... 11 last time. And I don't actually think I've had an update (although in fairness there may be nothing to update!)

They are going to ask if I'm affected by the price increase.

They come back and say yes, it will be cancelled.
I understand your frustration, and if the price increase is over your budget then you may have to cancel - but remember that it won't matter to the OPC, chances are they have customers waiting for an allocation slot so they will sell it to someone else without any problem. My point is that if you really want one then you have to stay with it - the OPC probably haven't any control over the delay so being hard on them may be a little unfair.

I agree that the OPC will probably be able to sell the slot to someone else without a problem. I also think that if you're going to tell a customer that their order has been delayed at the last minute you should a) do your best to make sure you knew why and b) already have the answer to the price question (in fact it shouldn't even need to be asked).

100%.

We can all except that there are issues that can arise outside the OPC's control. However, it's how these problems that are dealt with that is important....you would definitely expect the OPC to be in full control of the facts when they call you.

Same goes for anything in business....mistakes happen...how they are dealt with is important.

Mine's late, but should be here for the weekend. I've got the PEC day on Saturday in the GTS so it would be nice to drive it there!
