Anyone else being offered overs from dealers? Apparently a couple going through a few grand above list?
Really ? When a couple of people have managed to buy stock cars from an OPC showroom that seems incredible! In other news JZM have just taken a Mexico Blue 991.1 GTS into stock. No pics of it yet...
WOW.! What a fantastic looking and great spec car...Manual,buckets and sans sunroof which makes it one of the leanest and therefor fastest GTS out there..I especially love the two tone interior with buckets..I suspect a unique and brave choice but imo one which will carry a premium in the future..Well done on not following the herd..
Yes I like that Crayon...not as beige as I expected. What colour is the interior?
On the PPF subject, I hate the stuff. Typically, it does take some edge of the shine and you can see the edges even when it's done well. It feels odd and you need to take extra care when hosing / jet washing it.
Therefore when I have it fitted, my approach is to have it done to as few panels as possible - typically front bumper and bonnet only. It's a means to an end to resist the stone chips on the most vulnerable sections of the car and so far it's done a good job of this for me. I then have the rest of the car, which is less prone to stone chips, treated to a ceramic coating of some sort (recently this has been Gtechniq Crystal Serum, but I'm not overly impressed). I then have the whole lot coated in a hydrophobic coating which gives the best non-stick properties (typically Gtechniq Exo which I find IS a good product).
I have never considered having a whole car PPF'd. Given the disadvantages of film, I never will either.

Thanks all, I'm glad I took the plunge with this colour scheme without seeing anything similar beforehand. Feels like the gamble has paid off. Interior is crayon and graphite blue. Will try and get some better pics in daylight posted next week once it's been detailed and the sun is shining!

We had our Cayenne detailed with a ceramic coating when we bought in new in March. Thanks to Mrs Cheib getting rather flustered about a month after we bought it it is currently having both front wings repainted (yes I am still married)....I've washed the car by hand religiously since I bought it and I have to say I don't really think it's made that much difference. On the PPF subject, I hate the stuff. Anyway I will now have the perfect test bed...a car with a all panels bar both front wings and one door with a relatively fresh ceramic coasting...and three panels without a ceramic coating. It's going to be interesting seeing the difference.....
Pick the car up from the bodyshop on Friday.

Apart from the black ring, do the LED headlights look any different (mainly better) visually, than the standard headlights? Seems a lot of money for some LED's....
No idea, but the standard lights on the gts are pdls which I paid extra for on the gt4 and they were very good, can't see the price justification in leds.franki68 said:

Bit of a story here.....which has culminated in me not having the car right now. I won't mention any names as I want to give the company the chance to get it right, and I believe looking at their impressive outfit, they will.
Normally I use the Derbyshire-based Gtechniq approved detailer for the coating, then Paintshield in Peterborough for the film. For the application of film, Paintshield are the nuts in my opinion.
However this time I thought I'd try a one-stop shop, another Gtechniq approved installer who also does film. They're more local than Peterborough too.
Unfortunately they said my car had a stone chip (at 13 miles?) when it arrived, but it was so small they thought I might not see it. Fair play to them, but I'm a fairly relaxed realist about such things - the car is just a lump of painted metal / plastic after all, and unlucky things can happen. I wasn't going to insist it was resprayed and just asked them to get some touch up paint and then film over it.
They claim they did exactly this, but then they put the film on reckon it could still be seen and pulled the film back off. I have no idea why they did this, but it put them well behind schedule and so tried to buy more time (they'd had the car all week and this was on Friday AM!). However, I'd booked the afternoon off work to get the car and I WAS getting that car!
On collection it didn't look too bad, but when I closely inspected it at home I wasn't too happy with the film - they'd clearly rushed it (for which I have to take some responsibility). I only had the bumper and bonnet done with PPF as I don't actually like films (it's a means to an end though). The rest of the car looked superb, so they did a great job on the machine polishing but they also admitted that they hadn't applied all the coatings (apparently ran out of time on that too).
Honestly, my thought is they'd just overbooked - they had a number of (very!) high end cars and to be honest, my lowly 911 was probably the cheapest one there.
I agreed with the owner to return it on Sunday afternoon and I've given them until Thursday to apply all the coatings properly, and do a better job with the film.
We'll see how it goes, but I have faith. As I say, they look like an immensely professional outfit with some impressively equipped premises and a team who seem to be passionate about what they do. They just appear to have let themselves down on planning and resourcing.
Roll on Thursday.
is this the newish place in Wigston by any chance?Normally I use the Derbyshire-based Gtechniq approved detailer for the coating, then Paintshield in Peterborough for the film. For the application of film, Paintshield are the nuts in my opinion.

Not anything useful to say apart from the fact that I've done the same mileage in my GTS in 6 weeks as I did in 18 months in the 981 Spyder. There is something intoxicating about the way it puts its power down. It really is amazing car. My wife is amazed that I've done the 40m school run every day for the past 6 weeks.
