There's a good YouTube video by Nick Murray showing the difference.
Search for 'Porche Xenon vs leds'.

I opted for LED's as I preferred their capability and also the look.

Looking at the pictures on here of the early cars and reviews, roll on September......I chose Rhodium but every colour I've seen just looks soo good, congrats to everyone.....

Porsche LED's are awesome.

I had laser lights in my R8 and they were relatively useless because they had really poor dipped beam range (until I got the dealer to raise them, after which I got flashed all the time) and the admittedly spectacular lasers only fired up in very prescribed conditions, e.g. only when full beam would be appropriate.

Most lights, even halogens, are decent on main beam; the skill comes in giving a good range and spread of quality light on dipped beam because that's what you drive on for most of the time.

Porsche LED's (and Mercedes for that matter) are superb in ALL scenarios. Of course, the standard xenons will be just fine too (it's not that long ago when xenons were the latest upgrade), but once you're used to the white light of LED's, it's noticeable when you don't have them.

is this the newish place in Wigston by any chance?
That's the one.

However, I collected my car yesterday and they have done an outstanding job on it. I couldn't fault it (and believe me, I looked!). The paint is flawless and the quality of film installation seems as good as Paintshield so they recovered the situation very well. So much so, I left my wifes 718 with them to give that a bit of TLC (it was an ex demo so the swirls and holograms suggests it had been subjected to months of main dealer 'love and attention'!)

I've been holding onto this one until sorted.

My car went for PPF 3 days after collection, didn't use it for fear of stonechips. Picked up after five days, within minutes spotted a dent. They simply don't accept it was them. But my son took hundreds of pics which confirms it was'nt there and I really have an eye (OCD) for these things.

Really not great.

That's a bummer - sorry to hear that. Hope they admit it and it gets sorted quickly. I'm following all the new GTS stories with interest as mine is getting built now, planning on taking delivery early August.

As a side issue to your problem, on the sealant vs PPF choices mine will be going to a detailer for a Gtechniq treatment, but I won't be going to the expense of PPF and worrying over every stone chip. To me it's just not worth it, I love the look of freshly polished and waxed paint and PPF takes something away from that look, I also won't be worrying about every tiny stone chip, the car is to be used and enjoyed - it will only do about 7 or 8k miles a year and I'm quite happy to touch up any chips that are really noticeable, but after a few years a front end respray will bring it back to new if I feel the need. It will however be very much my pride and joy and receive the care and attention to keep it looking good, but I just can't be doing with being so OCD over the odd chip. My BGTS had a small mark on the windscreen within a few hundred miles and a couple of stone chips (both touched up by me) by the time I sold it - I don't think it would have been worth any more if I had spent the money for PPF. ETTO, just my tuppenny worth.....

Yes, as I said in earlier post, you don't get a lustre on the PPF like paint, the jury is still out for me.

As for the dent, Porsche were fantastic, removed it with out trace, paint was not broken, so PDR no charge. But the detailer continues to deny,

I really feel He shouldn't get away with it, I want nothing from him, even if Porsche had charged. Just a sorry...

That's not a good experience from the detailer. Who was this out of interest? Feel free to drop some clues if you don't want to name them.

Bloke who was allocated an "R" by my local OPC had the same issue. Looked at it at the OPC at handover then had it transported to a detailer to have PPF applied...car picked up a dent which they denied. Ended up in court I believe.

Good news in my case is that the PDR guy has done a perfect job, a magician

Just got the car back from KDS Keltec in Gillingham, Kent. I had it 2 staged polished, crystal serum then I think it was 2 coats of EXO. Pretty darn happy happy with the results. (Sorry some of the photos are the wrong way round, not sure how to correct)

Yes Miami blue, love it! Drive is great but still running in so nothing above 3.5k revs. Grip is imense, round a big roundabout near me it holds the road so well, much better than my old 997.1 GT3.

Reason for being up so early on a Sunday morning was my 2 year old unfortunately!

Interested in your thoughts on Miami. Is it a weekend only car? Is the colour too loud for day to day use?

I work in London and drive it every day to the train station. Wouldn't say it's too loud, it gets some attention, but that's not a bad thing smile makes kids and adults smile which is what's it's all about. I was that kid many moons ago!

I dare not leave mine in the station car park it's not a narrow car and the spaces in our station are v small for the suvs that populate them.

Damn, your answer is drawing me ever closer to JZM. Still hoping somebody moves before I do.

Your car looks awesome! I think we're right at the peak of the 'ace car' era and I really want to run something special now before we're all turned into Tesla droids.

Think this too the best petrol cars around this point will be a high point of the ICE and driver autonomy. We often miss the manual gearbox, hydrolic steering and atmospheric engines but these are nothing compared with the changes that will come over the next 10-20years in separating the driver from the car.

I only hope we are left with some kind of playground for these machines without having to doodle them to a track
