That's good to know, I've been talking to one of the sales staff from Wolverhampton called Tom and he seemed pretty decent and interested in selling me a car compared to Solihull that didn't even approach me to see if I needed any assistance
Same issue with Solihull, even though I've already bought a car from they they were uninterested in selling me a new one, never getting back to me, useless. I've been through 3 sales people already.

Wolverhampton were totally different, treated really well and I'm dealing with a trainee, Laura, but she's very good, really responsive and helpful, people buy from people........

Within a week of setting foot in there I've placed an order, says it all really.

Many thanks for that, gives me something to stare at (until it's sold). Very high spec and higher than mine will be by a long way but still pleased with it. The only thing (actually there are a few but one that I think about more!) is axle lift. It's a lot of money if I never use it and even if it scrapes the front, it will be underneath I suppose!

Hello all!

Have not had a porsche in about 15 years and last week just placed an order for a 991.2 gts Cabriolet! In the past I have always taken rather large hits financially on the cars I have sold usually after 3 years of ownership with around 7000 miles on them either ferrari or mercedes. However with 911's I have heard they hold their value quite well. I was just wondering if anyone could advise on the spec below if they think this car will hold its value well and if anything key is missing or I need to remove anything smile

Agate Grey Metallic

Convertible Top Black

Alcantara® Package GTS Carmine Red in conjunction with GTS interior package

Carbon fibre trim

ParkAssist (front and rear) with reversing camera

Electrically folding exterior mirrors

Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK)

Power steering Plus

20-inch 911 Turbo S wheels

GTS interior package

GT - Sport steering in Leather

Sports seats Plus (4-way, electric)

BOSE® Surround Sound-System

Great sensible spec but i would make the following changes: If you don't like alcantara steering wheels i would definitely chose the carbon fibre m/f HEATED steering wheel, standard sport design mirrors (look better and the GTS body is wider),drop power steering plus, add cruise control, auto mirrors and heated seats essential for resale.

HI Taffy,

Thanks for the response! The folding mirrors I feel is essential as I mainly drive around central London and park around there in tight spaces roadside. I was told by the porsche rep that the power steering plus is essential. What exactly do the auto dimming mirrors do? Regarding the heated seats I was told they are standard! I am open to alcantara steering wheel but just not too sure about it. Does the material wear down quite quickly and is it too much alcantara in the car?

I have specced your car and altered a couple of bits - power steering plus can make the steering too light imo and isn't really a necessity.

Added PDLS+ as I think they do make a huge difference at night but fully appreciate they're quite a pricy option at £1,772

Also added the 18 way seats as personally if you're planning on keeping it for 3 years it makes it easier to live with the extra comfort and adjustment with the benefit of adding memory to the seats. £1,991

Added painted lower part of the electrically folding mirrors as the black is plastic marks with wax/polish etc. - Personal preference but if going for the folding mirrors I think it gives a more cohesive look. £303

Added heated multifunction steering wheel (in alcantara) at £329 - same price for the heated carbon steering wheel.

Cruise control at £228

Smoking Pack at £38 to cover the 'hole' in the transmission tunnel and adds a 12v port too. - Completely personal preference as some people use the hole to put cash for parking etc.

Auto dim mirrors - also gives rain sensing wipers - £369

in addition to your spec

Just the things Id add but I appreciate that then adds: 5030 if you had all the bits.

Lava is a great colour and very uniquely Porsche.
I agree Lava looks great. On the RS a slightly different tint is used in the paint. That's why side by side a RS looks different to Lava on other cars. To do with the Mag roof on the RS.

I have another GTS Targa arriving next month in Pastel Orange, with Satin black roll hoop etc.

Hi matt,

Thanks for your response!

I think the pdls+ is too pricey at that price! In regards to the seats I found them pretty comfortable and I have never used memory function on any of my cars! If the multifunction alcantara steering wheel is the same price as CF steering wheel isn't it much better value and sporty if the steering wheel is CF?

Do you think cruise control is essential?

Also do you think that the bose system is essential?

Thanks

I think your spec is fine.

As someone with a 997 GTS constantly with an eye on Agate Grey 991 GTS. IMO:

I expect to have Bose so would say it is essential to most GTS second hand buyers. it would bug me Bose wasn't specced

GTS Package/ Alcantara: what makes it GTS on the inside for me is all about Alcantara - so yes on these

Personal view: Silver stitching not Carmine Red stitching always seems to sell better and looks better with Agate Grey

I have cruise but rarely use it. Could live without as a second car/ town diriving

Agree: auto dim /rain sensors are worth it

Power Steering is overkill. it will be fine without.

Definitely stick with the Black centre lock Wheels as essential for "GTS look"

Although undoubtedly superior, don't think PDLS+ and 18-way seats are worth it unless money no object

Thanks for your reply nigiestar!

Great advice!

What do you think I should do with steering wheel. CF multifunction or alcantara standard steering or standard GT leather steering wheel?

I wouldnt think so - it feels very high quality and feels great - very grippy - even better when heated! PS - Alcantara is part of the whole 'GTS experience' - go for it!

My 991 GTS is pretty much that spec apart from 4 way seats not 18 way. Will be available late Oct as switching to a Gen 2.

No, last car I did 45K miles and it was still fine. Just clean it periodically.

Seats are so emotional. If the 4-way are comfortable I would go for them. They also sit lower than the 18-way. Advantage of the 18-way are the comfort entry which raises the steering column for easier entry/exit. You also get memory function which is your other hand drives the car and needs to heavily adjust the seat setting and steering column can be useful. I have had 18-way and both styles of buckets and in my current car I'm very happy with 4-way

I think cruise is essential, others don't, it's purely personal and can be retrofitted.

Carbon fibre steering wheel is lovely and still has leather hand grips so if you don't go Alcantara I would choose CF to match the other CF parts in the car.

Sport design mirrors - I love them and would not ideally buy a GTS without them. I find I really don't need to fold the mirrors very often and the rear haunches of the car extend probably nearly the same width as the mirrors anyway.

Auto dimming mirrors (inc. door mirrors) and rain sensing wipers - IMO an essential on this level of car. Why would you want to manually dip the rear view mirror on a £100k? You are also sat low so every 4x4 will be blinding you!

Power Steering Plus - makes the steering too light IMO and robs it of feel. The steering as standard really isn't that heavy these days and has such a great feel that you know what the car is doing so again why would you want to lose this unless you really need a super lightweight steering?

I think if you just added these couple of relatively low-cost items to your existing already great spec you would have a really superb car that I'm sure would be very attractive come resale.

That's s bit unfair, Matt works in the trade and does know his stuff so can offer sensible and valid opinions.

I know plenty of 45 year olds who know less

Hi Nice

Personal opinions, but I prefer the red stitching on Agate cars. I have had 3 cars with red stitching and loved them all (red car, White car and Agate car). We now have silver stitching and it is a little less sporty IMO. Red doesn't photo well but when you see the red stitching in the GTS I think it looks really good and not too loud that it will age badly.

Agree totally with your sentiment on PDLS+ and 18-way seats BTW.
