Even though I'm not having the extra GTS package with the stitching, I have seen the red and think it looks lovely however I know someone who just bought an Agate Grey GTS and he preferred the silver stitching so personal taste I suppose.

For me, the £2500 is a lot for carbon fibre bits and coloured stitching, I know it's popular with just about everyone but for me I could live without it and can't see why it costs so much when carbon fibre on its own is around £500 and it's already stitched in exactly the same place so it's £2000 for a different colour stitching - wait for the the mail!!

And a red dial. Bargain.

Ahh, I forgot the red dial, right, better tick the box then.

Seriously, I know it looks good but it's a case of trying to make my budget work and for me there are other things that are more important such as rear footwell lighting (joke)

So red

Vs silver

I like both, and as I've currently got the red, maybe I should go silver.....
David, without shadow of a doubt I believe you need silver stitching on that green car. Will looks tremendous with that.

I have the painted vents on mine and they're very noticeable, more so than the configurator leads you to believe - remember that with the door open the painted sections of the outer vents are quite large and IMO would look a bit odd sat right next to the green paintwork.

Looks tremdous that BishBosh, you don't see many Turbo's in Carmine. Looks particularly good next to the gloss black detailing too.

How are you finding it compared to the 650?

i'm sorry mate (and i'll admit i don't know either of you...) but your letting a 20'something year old that drives a Fiesta spec your £115k 911! wtf!
I thought he did a good job speccing the car. 20 something Fiesta driver or not, he at less made that GTS into something that could be resold again biggrin

I've changed the spec to be silver, I've seen the light! (Plus I have the red stitching at the moment so it will be a change).

I wanted to bring some green into the intior, and the only real options are the vents or the climate panel (which looks out of place painted).

I like the fact the sides are on show with the door open, are you saying you wouldn't have it again though?

Thanks for your reply nigiestar!

Great advice!

What do you think I should do with steering wheel. CF multifunction or alcantara standard steering or standard GT leather steering wheel?
go alcantara with Multi function

my steering wheel is alcantara has done 5k. still looks like new.

yes it wears quicker but if you look after it (dont track it / have sweatty hands) it is fine.

The option you have gone for is great...which is the surrounds of the vents I think ? Much better than the climate control panel which is too much.

+1 on Silver with that colour scheme

actually this is like the plastic dash on the 997 GTS: Once you have the car and driven it out of th OPC, you won't be thinking about silver stitching or plastic dash... it will soon be forgotten

rofl appreciate the time you spent checking out my profile biggrin but he wasn't letting me spec his car at all - merely offering my opinion driving take it with a bucket of salt, as clearly I don't know anything.

I tried to be fairly objective with my assertions on spec, an ideal spec is to go crazy - but you have to draw a line somewhere!!!
People like 'ticking boxes' so it's very easy if you don't look at the ££££ adding up to get very carried away - (particularly in my case as you've pointed out - I can't afford one)

Multifunction Alcantara Wheel or MF Carbon wheel are useful upgrade - you lose a stalk to control the right hand binnacle by picking the MF wheel - and you get the benefit of heating - not sure if either high up on your list?

I chose the standard steering wheel on mine as i much prefer the smaller 360mm and heated alcantara does not appeal as it would get sweaty.I also much prefer the stalk to operate the computer a la GT4 and my upcoming GT3...Either stay standard or spec the carbon wheel which is gorgeous and a great value option to boot..

I'm definitely not saying that. I think it's one of my favourite trim options as it adds just the right amount of understated colour and does look great with the doors open.

It will look superb with your green car, but I think it was important not to have too much variation of colour. I think someone said it first but the saying 'red and greeen should never be seen'.

I must admit I didn't check your profile, the other chap must have though. I did check out your spec and it looked 'right'.

Maybe you should've spec'd mine and stopped me ticking all those bloody boxes, would've saved me a fortune laugh

Very wise words. I am having the first leather/alcantra GTS package which removes the plastic dash etc, just not the additional one which adds the alternatate stitching and carbon fibre.

My car came into the dealership this week ready for a September pick up and I don't remember seeing many discussion points on activating the tracking system for the GTS. What's people's thoughts on this and how many people have done it?
As I will be going to Europe in it for a couple of weeks a year, I would want to know if it disappeared from my hotel so at least I can get it back to continue the journey.
Either this or I take GAP for the loss and ask my car insurance to get me home?
Tracking £450 for 2 years, GAP £500 (approx) 3 years.
Thanks in advance....

I think they call it Porsche connect and you have to take it, I think around £240 for the first year. I was sent a code and had to set up an account before collection. There is an app for your phone, handy to track how it is being driven when in the dealers! I think it is better value on a 100K plus car. As for Gap insurance, you can buy it through your own insurance company a lot cheaper I am sure.

The tracking is separate from Connect Plus. Subscription to Porsche Connect is included with the car for two years (that is all the apps which need the internet, and Google Maps). If you wish to stream online music you need a subscription to Porsche Connect Services via the PCM App.

You don't have to have the tracking activated either - but many insurance companies insist it is. NFU who I'm with didn't require it (might depend where you live), so I didn't bother with it. I have GAP though - for 5 years bought from gapinsurance.co.uk.

I took Gap Insurance through a 3rd party on my last one and paid about £300 for 3 years, full return to invoice.
