I'm pretty sure that's Walter Rohrl own personal 991R hence the WR in the number plate.

That green oak does look really classy.

Quick q re sunroof - does this affect the structural rigidity of the car at all? Some people (much) earlier in this thread appear to allude that it's quite noticeable.

Ah yes, I meant to answer an earlier question regarding that. I have a sunroof in my .1 and whilst it is a lovely thing I am also looking forward to not having one in my .2. It does squeak and groan over uneven surfaces and I barely ever open it so don't really see the point. I am looking forward to having a larger surface area of paint rather than just a large black panel.

All cars flex to a certain degree some more obvious than others.I personally would never spec any type of sunroof on my 991 no more than i would go for a Targa or Cabriolet. The flex is brought into much sharper focus on a 991's glass sunroof even compared to the steel sun roofed version as the glass itself cannot flex unlike a steel sunroof has a degree of flexibility.Another point worth bearing is that the glass sunroof weighs nearly twice as much as the steel sunroof as the glass itself is much heavier and the extra weight of the motor for the sunshade.
If you want a 991 for road driving and cruising etc all my points above become irrelevant but if that's the case you might as well get the Targa or Cabrio instead. If you track a lot or spend a lot of time driving fast on very rough roads a glass sunroof is a liability imo.

I have been following this topic for the GTS must have thread for a while now. After having a 991.1 GTS and now the 991.2 GTS for 5 months I would add my thoughts on the options.

I went for the GTS Alacantara package (GW) and it looks really good. Why pay the additional £2400+ for some red stitching and a red rev counter.

I opted for the red seat belts instead and the interior package leather including door strip (EKC) which blends in well. (will go for again)

I did not go for the Bose, the new standard sound system and the DAB radio is great, I can not tell the difference unless side by side. (will go for again)

I went for the PDK, and the RWS and the PDCC. (The PDK and the RWS will go for again)

For me the PDK and the RWS is well worth it, the PDCC I would not spec again.

The -20mm suspension is fine, and I am glad I went for it. Obviously I slow down over speed bumps. (Will go for again)

I went for the glass sun roof, and have not found any creaking, I had this on my prior GTS as well. The glass roof makes it a lot lighter inside. (Will go for again)

The power steering plus, is very helpful for parking in tight spaces. in normal driving mode it reverts to normal. (Will go for again)

The option of the speed of the road is recommended and the cruise control. (Will go for again)

CYMRO1949- I found this very helpful. Can I ask you what seats did you select? And did you go for F&R sensors with camera and Multi Function Steering Wheel?

Really interesting. How would you rate the .1 v the .2 GTS? I imagine everything in the .2 is better, except for the engine noise - what is your experience. Thanks

I went for the 4 way sports plus. I find them very comfortable and good for long journeys. I have done over 5K miles in the car now and have not suffered any back problem. On another car, I had a 18way seats, and found I was always fiddling to get the correct lumbar support. Far too many controls to play with. Kept always adjusting it.

I went for the parking sensors front and rear. On the previous model I has a camera as well, not worth the additional £500.

I went for the sport multi function wheel, will go for sports wheel again, not sure about the multifunction, although the steering heating is good on the multi function. Will give it 7/10

If you press the map button the max speed on any road is displayed on there (for free) smile

I am only stating what I have experienced with mine over 14K miles.

Just stumbled across a Autosport supertest, in which a 991.2 GTS ran significantly faster lap times than a 991.1GT3 and RS at Nurb and Hockenhiem (on cup tyres)... pretty quick things for a non GT!

This,I put glass sunroof on this car after many years of doing without. No squeaks or rattles and certainly no flex.
I think any extra 'air' in the car helps engine/exhaust sound wise as well as I find it quite muted in the car .
As for the extra weight ,it doesn't feel like it's any different performance wise, certainly on the road, maybe on track it may be different.
