991 GTS Must haves
Discussion
the car i tried was also spasm. very compliant regardless and still better than the passives i had on my previous boxster 987.2 spyder. the boxster passives only became good at speed but at low speed were a bit pogo ish. they were amazing on the ring though. a shame that wasn't my daily commute.
the demo car also had the glass roof which I'm not keen on. i think perhaps manual without a glass roof will save best part of 40 kg so the spec i order will probably be a little sharper.
did love foot to the floor move offs from standstill. no wheel spins and only the odd squirm to the side. massive traction. at speed loved the feeling of the car moving underneath you.
i will probably get a set of cup 2's put on when i collect and a fast road geo with some camber dialled into the front. the pirellis are pants imo.
also i only put my deposit down a few weeks ago and they have offered december delivery but waiting till mid next year as too much on until next summer. some other dealers quoted Q3 next year. maybe the official porsche owned dealers get looked after better perhaps?

I like guards red over lava orange and carmine red. Classic Porsche color. I am going for GT silver. Definitely not specifying alcantara wheel though after seeing a 4 yr old gt3 with one. It was bald and shiny!
There was a GT Silver GTS right in front of the lava orange car in the picture, I walked right past it and never even noticed it - and I have just sold my GT Silver 911!Jacko.1 said:
I've seen the spoiler on a few pictures now but not in the flesh, it looks more like a lip than a spoiler and not a lot for £800. Would like to see it in real life to see if I'm missing something. Wonder why there is no ducktail or something available
No ducktail because not compatible with the turbo engine or rather the cooling vents down in the bumper apparently. I assume it keeps airflow away from them. Crying shame as looked great on 991.1. Cheib said:

I thought that but the Turbo has a spoiler so they must be able to make it workJacko.1 said:

This looks beautiful. Is it a very bright red? Because on the porsche configurator it looks almost orange!xbowdan said:

I prefer guards to carmine... the latter always appears a little 'lipstick ' for my liking! Good choice and goes great with the black wheels, imo!Davidkn said:
That’s the first picture of a sport design spoiler that actually looks like a bigger spoiler lip, will keep it specced I think as it seems to be a rare option.
Yep looks a little bigger depending on the angle you look at it, but can’t get away from the fact it is no ducktail. That said I still specced it - thought it was a bit expensive for what it is but thought it would differentiate the car a bit and makes the rear a little more interestingI am sure of the spec I want but can't decide on glass roof. I drove a 4s to the pec and drove the GTS around the pec and out on the roads. Thought I could do without 18 way seats and full LED lights but as options on the 4s they were great. I drove the black GTS at the pec. Really basic spec which ruined the car overall. I didn't realise the GTS pack included full leather dash (minus the stitching around the vents on the horizontal part of the dash (which is an 800£option). Could really notice the difference in ride of the 4s vs the GTS with -20mm spasm.

I uploaded a picture of a black gts showing the spoiler earlier in the thread. Looks nice but small. Could get the same effect by adding a lip spolierKermitgreenmeanmachine said:

Was the ride a lot firmer with the GTS? What about the sound, any difference with the GTS. Was the performance more noticeable_ sorry, excited to hear some comparisons as having just come out of a 991.2Gassing Station | 911/Carrera GT | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
