Decent head to head with the M4CS. Jethro loves the GTS.......even heard him say it's faster than the GT3 most of the time.
Got me thinking about Guards now too......
Totally agree, but the car in the video in the video is probably Carmine Red. It's a signature colour for the GTS and in my opinion (maybe because that's what I've ordered) a much richer shade of red.Decent head to head with the M4CS. Hi all! New member here, have been keeping an eye on this forum as I Specced my .2 gts and i collected it a couple weeks ago, couldn’t be more happy with the car. The perfect sports car/ daily in my opinion.
Wanted to ask a quick question to anyone with the rear axle steering. I optioned it on my car however I haven’t really been able to notice any improvements in agility compared to when I tested it a few months ago. Even if I turn the steering wheel full lock when going slowly and then break, you can’t see the rear wheels turning in the opposite direction at all. Do you think there is a possibility that it may have not been installed ?
Thank you for your help!

1/ start car
2/ tilt the wing mirror of choice down so you can see the rear wheel / arch area
3/ put into reverse & turn full lock
4/ watch as the rear tyre appears by about a quarter of an inch from the rear arch
5/ put into drive or first gear and watch the rear tyre / wheel slowly disappear back into the arch!

Yes, that is (was) mine for sale at Newcastle OPC. I sold it to a local trader a few weeks ago, who then moved it onto JCT600 very quickly.
I sold it for a number of reasons that when added up, just seemed to make it the right time.
Firstly, I managed to move it on with minimal deprecation (in the context of a new car), despite having done just under 6k miles in it! A quite phenomenal lack of depreciation on a new car with such a beefy spec (which today would cost £137k, although I did not pay that thanks to buying pre-price rise and getting a sweet discount). Had I kept it much longer and continued to put miles on at the same rate then I suspect, especially with a 992 on the horizon shortly, I would've started to tank a bit more. Maybe I'm wrong and I did brace myself for some considerable depreciation (given the spec) yet it just felt like I had the opportunity to swerve this and it was an optimal time to move it on.
Secondly, I rarely keep cars for long, although I always manage to rack up the miles in a short space of time and have lots of fun in them (I even did the NC500 in the 911). Honestly, it was one of the best cars I've had. Whilst it's not the most special car I've owned in terms of aesthetics or presence, it was the best one to drive and the most technically competent.
And finally, the wife is pregnant.....with twins! They're our first and I'm still in shock even thought she's due in just a few weeks. Therefore, I decided to replace the 911 with something cheaper so I have a bigger budget to spend on the 'family' car. Lets face it, that's what I'll be driving most! I know the 911 could've 'worked' with twins but if I'd have kept it, I wouldn't have had the substantial budget I wanted for a family car.
I've still ensured I bought a fun car for me, changing one GTS for another very different GTS.....
It's interesting going back to an AMG GT after the 911 (I previously had one when they first launched in 2015). The AMG is definitely not as technically competent as a 911, in fact I'd go as far as to say they're not a particularly endearing car at first. Compared with something like a 911 which just feels 'right' from the get-go, the AMG is certainly harder to drive, it's difficult to see out of and it's surprisingly raw (much more so than the 911).
It takes time to get to know, but stick with it and you do get used to it. Some of the peculiarities and the effort needed to learn it arguably make it an 'interesting' car. It certainly has presence, attracting more attention than most cars I've had, 911 and previous R8 included. Whilst it'll never be as capable as a tricked-up 911, it's still a phenomenally capable piece of kit that just takes time to get to know properly.
To be frank though, it was quite good value - the original owner ticked every box (it's specced to £143k ) yet despite being just over a year old and with 3k on the clock, it cost over a third less than its new price.

My spec is locking down in a few weeks. Nearly there but still debating between ‘normal’ GT steering wheel and multifunction/heated option.
Also not sure about going for the additional interior light package?
Lastly GTecnic or Ceramic Pro - any difference?
All comments much appreciated!

Heated multifunction every time. If you get it in leather or alcantara and tick the GT Steering box as well then it is the smaller 360mm size. Also not sure about going for the additional interior light package?

It’s not a killer not to have the wheel functions, but if you are driving the car regularly it just makes life easier and it looks good imo.

....And that AMG looks fantastic - lovely colour combo! M3 CP in the background looks good too - you have great choice in cars . I remember the manual 997.2 turbo you bought from Leicester - that was a rare car (without PDK)!
I recognised your 991 GTS instantly - can't be many spec'd like that. Hats of to you for doing 6000miles though.. some people don't do that in 2 years, so although it was a short affair at least you can say you have "used" it. Bloody quick car too!
Cheers
Congrats on the twins!! Re making the 911 work, I explored this idea with myself having two under two. Technically you can fit them in, but you don't realise how many "options" these kids come with... Toys, nappy bags, prams etc all take up a shed load of space! We've got a new Q7 to tackle family duties, which is probably going to put paid to the idea of my new 911 GTS, however, was just this week looking at the AGM GTS...
Anyway, hope you enjoy your new car!

Anyone have thoughts on the extra lighting and third party ceramic coating options?

Light design package yes, rear footwell no. Anyone have thoughts on the extra lighting and third party ceramic coating options?
I'm also pondering whether I want Gtechniq applied by the OPC. Need to find out who they use. The two options I thought I wouldn't want but make the car feel the part was the 18 way seats and full led lights.

Well, after what seems like the longest wait in history, my car has finally turned up. Unfortunately a wheel got damaged in transit, but a new one is winging it's way from Porsche GB in Reading. Once this is on and the PDI has been done, I'll be picking it up next Thursday.
Getting quite excited now.

So my Graphite Blue ‘Full Spec’ car has arrived....
Arrived without- Cruise control, Carbon upper mirrors, painted headlight washers!!
I’m not really ‘too’ fussed, what a situation to be in, said to salesman what went wrong... he said I 100% sent the last spec before lockdown! He could be lying

Superb day at PEC today driving a manual RWD Coupe for the first time. Luckily loved it considering mine arrives in that spec next month.
Brilliant hosting from Liam - thank you if you’re reading this. Particularly enjoyed hunting the GT2 down: reeled in on every corner but he/she had the straight line power to avoid the dreaded left indicator!
