Has anybody driven a 991.2 GTS Coupe and GTS Targa back to back & can offer any advice please?

Does the Targa feel heavier and less responsive due to the extra weight & 4 wheel drive or realistically would it be difficult to notice much difference?
Any downsides to the Targa - wind buffeting, etc?

I was about to pull the trigger on a GTS (with glass sunroof) but thought I best explore the Targa option just in case worth the extra outlay as this will be a keeper.... pre-order jitters!! Thanks
I havent driven a targa, but I did drive the rwd and awd coupes back to back, and the coupe with awd felt a lot heavier, so I’d imagine the targa will feel even more so, quick changes of direction are where it’s noticed most, but then if you were going for awd anyway, the difference might not be as great.

The fact it’s only available in awd ruled it out for me, I wanted rwd.

The PEC day is awesome, I’ve been fortunate to go 3 times this year, love it. My advice is go for a morning session, as you get breakfast and lunch then.

I always go out on the public roads too to see the difference of the suspension options on bad roads rather than just a perfectly smooth raceway.

My favourite is the motorway section in the track, launch control and changing 2 lanes while stamping on the brakes, very comforting for if that situation ever came up. Oh and the kick plate is a favourite, especially now they’ve redone the surface, it’s now extremely challenging!

Oh and if you get an old guy, don’t be disappointed, as you’ve probably lucked out and got ex-F1 and Le Mans winner Richard Attwood wink

Ex 991 GT3 & GT3-RS owner...... Simply dont miss them at ALL.

GTS is the complete allround 911, funny i was having a convo with a pal yesterday, he asked if i miss the GT3, said NO
Don't you miss the noise, surely you must. I love the power delivery but find the muted sound a bit depressing. Haven't fully opened it up yet so perhaps there's a bit more near the top end.

There is a video on u tube about the targa and as much as the reviewer raved about the car, the wind buffeting said he would have a cab instead if he had to choose. Personally I like the look of a targa. It can't comment as never driven one.

My wife’s 991.2 is louder than my 991.2 GT3 on start up and pulling away although I’m limited to 4K on the GT3 at the mo. The GTS does sound very good albeit probably synthetic.

OK, a final pre-lockdown question.
Anyone know what the adjustable bolstering on 18 ways does vs 4 ways. Does full inflation/most aggressive bolstering setting on 18 ways exceed the bolstering on 4 ways, or is it just a case of being able to ‘slacken-off’ the standard bolstering with 18 ways. I am often sliding about in corners on my current leather 4 ways!

Yet another example of stupid arguments put out by OPCs. Why not say "can we so we can hit our targets"?

Can't comment on the 991 but 18 ways on other models definitely have more aggressive side bolsters

Hi all. *Considering* ordering a .2 after absolutely loving ownership of my .1 this time last year.

A question to those who are more knowledgable than me: I'd like to have seat ventilation so going with full black leather seats. Is there a way of getting the top of the dash to be leather too, or can you only have this in leather with the GTS Interior Package (which I don't believe I can opt for with leather seats)?

Is there a way round this?

If unachievable, is the non-leather dashboard pleasant enough or must these really be ordered with full lashings of Alcantara + leather dash?

Thank you!

Yes, the 18 way bolsters can be made 'thicker' so hold you in place better. With the adjustable seat length to improve thigh support and the lumbar adjustment the 18 way seats are very nice.

I haven't checked, but surely that's one of the extended leather options?

I couldn't decide what seats to get until I sat in them all (buckets, 4 & 18 ways) and I found the 18 ways most suited to me. Take a look at the leather back option as I think it is well worth considering.

There's one that sounds like it might be it, but when you click it the picture doesn't change at all so I'm not sure.

Would it be a faux pas just to keep with the non-leather dash?

Thanks!

You really don’t need the 18ways, the 14 ways are great. I have a few new Porsche’s, I’d only Spec 18ways on a car I was using everyday.

Hi guys first time on here as I can usually be found on Cutters! however I am very close to venturing into Porsche ownership for the first time! Currently looking at the GTS. Have driven it however just to be totally convinced I have a demo for this weekend and pending on that I think I will be putting my deposit down.

I asked dealer if I do go ahead how long would it take to get the car. They said that they are getting no cars throughout the range from April-Sep. as there seems to be some sort fuel regulation problems in Germany.

Has anyone heard this or is my dealer talking out of their **se?

Yeah there is something happening around April. I was told but wasn't really listening, I'll be in my OPC tomorrow - I intend to ask again.

Looks like it is 'Dashboard Trim Package in Leather' £830. Check with your OPC to make sure.

‘Black leather interior’ and ‘GTS alacantara package’ both cost the same and both include full leather dash. The £830 dashboard trim package is essentially extending the leather to cover dashboard air vent slats and other minor dash detail, plus deviated stitching around the air vents and sport chrono clock. This option looks nice but is rare. Defo not essential. Only for belts and braces spec.

Do you think PCCB will make the car more desirable come sale time?

I really am undecided on these..

What are the thoughts on the front axle lift? I’m going for the standard -20mm drop and wondered if others with this set up had experienced any problems with speed bumps etc?
