Sorry off topic.

I am looking to buy a 991.1 GTS from an OPC. Is there any point in making an offer on the advertised price? I understand with a new GTS there will be little or no discount, but pre-owned?

Thanks

Surely the point is to try and get a better deal, if you don't ask.. and all that

Always ask smile

It may be a straight discount or in the form of a 'contribution' if you are willing to take finance.

I have also asked for big services to be done early in the past - that can 'save' you many hundreds of pounds.

They may also offer to take the cost of the warranty and roadside assitance off the price, but I've never taken that option.

How are the prices holding up? I’m going to list mine next month when it’s a year old. Brilliant car but have incoming GT3T.

There are discounts to be had. I got a couple of grand off a new GTS. Not much but it will pay for some petrol and mints for the glove compartment.

On a lighter note, looking into insurance for the imminent delivery. Anyone got experience with AIB and Hiscox motor insurance?

I'm sure sure it's been covered before - but can anyone tell me if the PDLS LED option is really worth it over the standard Bi-Xenons on the GTS (like £1.7k worth it)? It's the only item I'm unsure about on my spec that's due shortly. Thanks in advance.

I did 'compare the meerkat' and got LVE for £490 fully comp for 8,000 miles...

That video isn’t relevant in the UK because we get the full-beans LEDs.

I’ve said it before but after owning many LED equipped cars from BMW, MB and JLR, the 991 has the brightest by far. The tech is poor though as they don’t have any matrix functionality.

An easy decision imho, I know I’ve gone faster this winter with them.

FWIW, last I heard, all dealer cars had to have them too.

Nick thinks the gts is a parts bin special and a pointless car, so his opinion is null and void as far as I’m concerned. (i have watched the video before, but as mentioned, the lights in the US are not as bright anyway). Invariably, is nick doesn’t have them, they aren’t worth it.

I’ve never experienced the Porsche LEDs, my Boxster has the bi-xenon pdls plus, they are not as good or bright as my SLK55 AMG lights were, on main beam, they were the brightest lights I’ve ever experienced, down a country road was like driving through a light tunnel.

I’ve gone for the black LED pdls plus on the 991.2 gts though, so will see how good they are in a months time.

It’s arrived, roll on 1st March pick up! Great to see it’s keeping good company alongside a GT2RS during PDI inspection. Only downside being a manual it will be worthless!

Very nice, what colour is it?

Nice to see another sport design spoiler.

I have never driven a Porsche manual.

However I drove a company golf 360 miles in the last 24 hrs, it’s a manual, first manual I’ve driven in years. Made me appreciate my pdk in all the traffic, for a daily driver I could never not go auto these days.

Night Blue. It was between that and GT Silver which I really like, but thought the blue would be a bit different. Think I will need to call it the bruiser as it’s black and blue!

Totally understand why people go PDK but for me it had to be a Manuel! If anything like the box in my GT4 then it will be great...

I really must try a manual at some point, its on my list!

I was going to say night blue but I thought it was darker than that?

I think it is quite similar to the c. 2003 (when I had my Boxster S) midnight blue, has quite a fleck to it so does pop in bright lights.

On the manual front I don’t think the 7 speed GTS box will be as pure as the GT4 6 speed box, but I imagine it will still be extremely good, as good as it gets realistically for the character of the car, hope so anyway!

Can anyone tell me if it’s possible to change the standard GTS headlights (Xenons) over to right hand drive for driving in Europe?

Love that colour. Will go dark blue on my GTS order at the end of the year if I can’t secure a PTS slot. As an aside has anyone else considered the houndstooth cloth inserts for folding buckets and got a confirmed price on this? I saw on rennlist a figure of £1.6k but this was for the 918 buckets and wasn’t sure if it was the same for folding.

Yes, in the vehicle settings on the multi function display, I think it simply levels the lights so no dazzling happens. You can also change the speed readout to Kmph.
