Registration "991 GTS" sold at DVLA auction last week for £10,300....a 991 GTS "must have" for someone! Looking at what some registrations go for Maybe it wasn't bad value ?
Hi chap - trouble with this is 99% of the population will think it’s a 911 typo - LOL smile

This is true but in some ways that appeals to me! If I had a 991 GTS I'd have been tempted.

Would you really have contemplated spending that on a number plate ? Surely not smile

Not on a plate that is generation specific. Mad! Who’s going to want 991 GTS in 7-8 years time when the cars are at £50-60k and you cant use it on a newer generation car?

No not at £10k ! Although I see some plates in London that must cost a fortune. I saw 12 BOR on a FFRR the other day.

I think 911 GTS is worth 10k more logically for that reason

Not a bad guess then - I said (guessed) 8-10k on page 184. You've got to really want it to pony up £10k

Question re tyre and wheel insurance:

Have NFU insurance w GAP.

Option 1. Porsche offering £499 2 yr (£585 3 yr) for 4 tyres replacement and also 4 whee/rim refurbishment due to damage (there is s a £20 excess)

OR

Option 2. ALA £337 for 2 yrs (no rim insurance for GTS)

Can anyone speak from experience re either?? - Porsche seems a good deal (for rim peace of mind)

For what it is worth, my thoughts on Gap insurance have always been:
If I am ever misfortunate to have to rely on this cover, I rather only have one party to deal with.
The party that would provide the new car and indeed provide the insurance product to cover the costs. I don’t want to be stuck in the middle of an arguement between two parties...

Just over 1k miles on mine now. Amazing car. Starting to open it up a bit now. My first car with black wheels. Looked great on picking up but wheels permanently bronzed now as the brake discs oxidize at the first sniff of water, dropping orange powder over the rims. Even a good wash and scrub with Gtechniq iron/fallout remover didnt get them back to the original condition. Should have gone for PCCBs. First world problems eh?!

I've been using Muc-Off "The Ultimate Matt Finish Detailer" which is advertised for carbon-finish bikes and this works a treat.
Just use water (not car shampoo) and then the Muc Off. It's a bit of a faff and takes time but the results are good.

She’s arrived!

Probably the highest spec’d GTS in the UK.

Finished in Grigio Telesto (Lamborghini Metallic Grey).

Porsche configurator: http://www.porsche-code.com/PJNHY1N2

Just awaiting Techart upgrade conversion, HRE P104 alloy wheels and PPF.

Amazing. I love that colour. Didn’t realise I could have done PTs.

Any tips on keeping these wheels clean? the barrels always look rusty, scrub them, get clean and in days the same, fall out remover gets some, but they rarely look good

Get some Gtechniq C5 Wheel Armour. Won't stop them getting dirty but makes cleaning them a doddle.

[quote=Andy_GTS]Has anyone had any updates on their current 911 GTS order? As I know the factory is shut down at the moment.

I did see a updated from someone on here about the only cars which are going to be produced after the factory reopens where going to be the AWD model and I have just looked on the configuration and its currently saying on the following on the RWD Coupes:

"This model is not currently available for configuration as a new factory order. Please continue to use the Car Configurator to explore the model. For more information regarding availability please contact your preferred Porsche Centre."

and the following on AWD Coupes:

Due to an upcoming revision of specification, this model is not currently available for configuration as a new factory order. Please continue to use the Car Configurator to explore the model. For more information regarding availability please contact your preferred Porsche Centre.

I'll drop my OPC a email to see if they have heard anything more on it but they did say I should get a update July ish...

On a side note with order spec, how many people have optioned the following and their thoughts on it?

SportDesign mirror with carbon upper section
Window triangle trims in carbon
Rear apron painted
Side skirts painted

Andy, I've just had the same message from my dealer... I ordered the GTS RWD in March & placed my deposit, with an October/November build slot & they've just mailed me today saying I can have a GTS4, or wait until the new model! I've never driven a 4, so interested to hear the difference from those who have compared? Can't say I'm particularly happy, but I also want the GTS, so guess it's one to have to deal with. I've also specced all of those items on mine as I wanted it to look a little different to most.
