Not too worried about numbers personally a well run company is more important - it’s possible to keep quality high even as numbers go up

In fact I would argue the exact opposite , as production numbers go up it’s possible to increase production standards with more specialised machines, more r&d etc - look at say a 911 vs an Aston for depth of quality and design , Aston might have the edge in some of the leather quality , stitching etc but a modern 911 blows it away in design terms.

The difficult is the numerous cases where manufactures short term monitors a brand by ramping up production without keeping a QC eg Fender guitars.

Given Porsche’s recent track record I would give them at least the benefit of doubt maintaining quality control.

Personally I think the interior quality in the new Cayenne is worse than the old one. Some of it is actually quite low rent...

Hi All

Can anyone suggest where I can have my wheels re- painted silver as opposed to the standard black on the GTS somewhere in the Midlands?

Thanks
Ed

ive found a number of places who will paint them.... however I asked the porsche service guy and he said the warranty would be invalidated if I did it.... fun police.

something about the centrelock mating which didnt apply to the normal wheels. The OPC said they would do normal wheels, but not the CL's.

all sounded like bks but what can you do.

Maybe not worth taking the risk then!

If they're the same as the Turbo wheels I guess you could buy a set of them and sell yours?

That’s a bit nuts really.

I have asked my contact at the OPC if he can get them re-painted.

I guess if the OPC has re-painted it’s hard for them to turn down a claim.

Thanks anyway

Cheers
Ed

I had mine painted by the OPC prior to delivery, no mention of any warranty issues.

My OPC has quoted me £120 / wheel plus VAT so they are going to be done.

I have a couple of little bits that need sorting under warranty so I am just sorting out a booking for these bits and the wheels.

I used to have a severe aversion to black wheels on cars (almost as much as I dislike Privacy Glass). However, I love them on my GTS - it's what makes the car look mean and everyone comments on how much they like the wheels (which is a surprise). Will be interesting to see photos of your's when finished.

Interesting, can you let me know the OPC and will give them a call. It was Wilmslow who told me they cant do it. Assuming yours are centrelocks?

I guessing they are painting the centre lock nuts as well?

Been thinking of getting mine painted too and as Wolverhampton is my local opc that’s good to know.
