But it's not ! as can be seen by the number of PDK cars for sale VS the zero 2wd manuals.
but it's a forum every one has their own opinion.
It's because there are far more PDK cars in existence, not because they don't sell.

By the way, as I type the only 2WD coupe in the network is a manual.

new cars favor PDk, 2nd hand cars favor manual, the new car people have moved on to gen 2 PDK cars if that's what they like as it's a far better system.

older market is fickle and fussy. markets littered with 4wd PDK cabs !

put a 2wd coupe 15k miles car up for sale at £60k, and you will get it sold in 1 day.

as for "THE NETWORK" what does that mean lol

If you mean OPC's then yes a new car has come up for sale but it's >30k miles, £68k and black.
that's a tough ask imo.

Hexagon has 7 GTS cars for sale, none 2wd Manuals !

What are you talking about? The 997 GTS is the Gen 2 car.

It's not littered with coupes. Cabs are harder to sell.

Put it up for £50k and it will sell in an hour. What's your point?

OPC network.

Keep up. It's been there for weeks. It's why I resurrected this thread.

Why do you suppose that is? Is it because the manuals have all been snapped up, or because there were far more PDKs brought into the UK?

I'm not sure if things have changed slightly with the recent trendy retro image of the manual box (possibly a PH thing wink) but the PDK (with SC) on the 7GTS was the better seller and always attracted a premium over the manual. I'd still wager an OPC would pay more for a PDK 7GTS. 4WD a bit undesirable. So is Alcantara delete. Cabs are cheaper still. As with all these specials - closer to launch spec the better = GTS 2WD coupe with Alcantara and CL's. Probably a 50/50 split now on transmission preference. I do admit though that prices seem to have been stretched to max so not surprised to see them take a little longer to sell. As for 991 GTS's.... manuals are a hard car to sell. As ever, it's whats flavour of the month.

"What are you talking about? The 997 GTS is the Gen 2 car."

people who love PDK tend to move on to the latest cars with Gen 2 PDK , ie 991's and 991 GTS
gen 2 PDK is night and day a better system.

No one is talking about gen 2 cars !

Hexagon has 7 GTS cars for sale, none 2wd Manuals !
"Why do you suppose that is? Is it because the manuals have all been snapped up, or because there were far more PDKs brought into the UK?"

the former it's because there is a waiting list of buyers for manual 2WD cars and they are snapped up.

PDK owners as I have said now own 991 PDK cars and part exed the old tech for new tech ;-)

it's simple to follow trends

TO answer phooey , again NEW cars favor PDK and also the 991 GTS was 7 speed, they won't make that mistake again !
the new GTS will have a 6 speed manual from the 911R setup.

I've owned 991 PDKs and have gone back to a 997 PDK. The 997 is the better car, IMHO, despite having a marginally slower PDK box. Go figure.

well there are odd people about ;-p you get the 20% where the trend of buying does not fit, that's normal and I always generalise.

the 991 GTS is clearly the BETTER car, that's what Porsche do, make faster better cars, better for you though, seems not.

I like my R better than my GT4 but I don't say my R is the better car that would be daft, I have always said my GT4 is better in EVERY way !!!..... bar enjoyment :-)

As always what is better ?, lap times, tech, PDK, Engines, chassis, the newer cars are better in all those area's.

I would hate a 997 PDK as the box feels substandard to me vs the newer cars, but I like old style steering feel.

And as can be seen by fast sales, Manual 2WD GTS cars are the best sellers, that's just a fact :-) spec is still key though buyers are fussy ;-) alcantara delete was a bit of a fail imo as Phooey said.
And black cars are really out of favor.

Our one has alacantra delete, but we have young kids to ferry around so it's perfect to easily clean.
The one thing we particularly wanted was extended leather as the plastic dash isn't particularly nice.
Everyone is different and want certain things.Value is unimportant to me,it will get used and we will enjoy it.

Agreed, the leather is probably more child-friendly. However the extended leather or lack thereof was something that didn't even occur to me until people on here mentioned it. The standard interior is great and fits together better than the 991. Painted centre console is good.

I can well imagine one day tearing the GTS apart and putting a cage in it for track use. It will be well into 6 figure miles by then though and no longer my main sports car.

I think the 7GTS is equal best car I have ever owned, with the criterion being "the car that does best what it was intended to do".

Having driven a 991 GTS on extended loan, various Cayman's/Boxsters, the 718 Cayman (which was fantastic), as well as a 991 GT3, have to say the PDK in my 997 GTS didn't disappoint me when I got back in it. It's obviously a slower change based on the numbers than the newer PDK variants but, as I'm not trying to be and never will be, a particularly amazing driver, a few tenths of a second slower gear change isn't that noticeable to me. Certainly not enough to chuck £40k into a 991 GTS to replace mine.

The Unicorn...manual, 2wd, coupe, alcantara and leather dash biggrin It's not for sale and I bloody love it! Only gets used at weekends but when it does get used it gets used properly. I've done two sessions at PEC organised by PCGB which have been brilliant.

Nah, that's not a unicorn. If it were a 4GTS with a stick, that's more your uncorn.

I find the leather wheels slippery when driving in a "spirited" manner. I didn't like the alcantara in the GTS when I first tried one, but I get the point now.

I have never had a problem with the leather wheel on any car and always spec it on my Porsche GTs.

I hate leather wheels, Alcantara is the sport car choice, unless you have clammy hands and kill the fabric.
esp winter driving as it not crazy cold, and again summer not crazy hot.
