What 991.1 is the best option :-

Very well spec Carrera with sports exhaust, sports chrono and pdk
Poverty spec Carrera S with sports exhaust and manual box

Which would be the most fun and enjoyable to drive?

What colour is the stitching? biggrin:

Think it comes down to the gearbox really. Are you a 'manuel' or PDK fan.

Personally I think the Carrera is suited to both equally.

I always had manuals up until recently and I must admit I have become lazy and it's much easier to drive an auto with screaming kids in the car! And traffic jams used to really stress me out but with auto it's so much more relaxing.

Ok I think I've answered my own question.

Very dependent on where you are going to use it and what your personal preference is! Something like 90% of 991's are PDK but then there's a very loud minority who love manual. Have read the 991 manual box is not the best but I think when the GTS came out was improved so may depend on how old the car is.

for me personally the manual - pretty much irrespective of the rest of the spec. For some reason Porsches to me only seem right if manual

I've had both Carrera Maunel and Carrera S PDK in 991.1 form and I didn't get on in the manuel car, it's not a lovely gear box, niec but not great.

The 991.2 manuel is much nicer and easier. 991.1 I'd go PDK but with paddle shift not rockers.

I've driven quite a few 991s - C2, C2S, C4S and GTS - and they're all excellent at doing what they are designed for. Personally preferred the C4S most.

As for the gearbox, I'd normally prefer a good manual, but it's a bit of a conundrum in the 991. The paddle-shift PDK is one of the best of its kind, but the 7-spd manual is a bit of a disappointment. You'd really need to try the various permutations and decide for yourself.

Interested to know why the manual is a bit of a disappointment. I just picked up a 991 manual and love it. Sure gear changes are not going to be as fast as a PDK but they slot in no problem and are a considerable upgrade to the manual box in my Evora smile

To answer the OP's question, I was in the same predicament. I already knew I wanted a manual box but they are rare on the C2S. A Porsche is for driving and I don't want a computer taking away 1/2 of my enjoyment.

The manual box is supposed to have been updated when the 991.1 GTS was launched so if your car is a GTS or a car produced at the same time the GTS was in production it too may have that better gearbox. Or you may just have a great example!

Wierd comments about that spoiler - I hate it - it's a bit like some one advertising - hey look at my short stubby willy. It looks wholly inadequate! If you are going to do a spoiler it at least has to look like a spoiler and not the floppy lid of a budget kettle.

Obviously just my opinion and no offence meant!
