Lovely. What do you run your tyre pressures at out of interest?

Looks like the GT3 Gen 2 is just around the corner. Loads of new info as of this morning. I reckon that it will be announced at the Paris Show. Wonder if the GT2 will be as well, that would really flummox the flippers. Could be an excellent marketing tool by Porsche!! All I hope is that who ever gets to buy either of these cars will be the ones that will use them as intended not parked up in storage. Where OPC's miss out is that whilst selling the flippers another car they do not get any part exchanges to sell. So it's a short term profit not a continued one.

I don't mean to be nosey...... but, is that the 58 reg 997 with lovely carbon and red stitched interior sold by Bristol? Sorry to hear it's a goner and hope it wasn't a serious incident.

Does anyone have accurate figures for the 997 2RS, I believe it's around 20 cars? The standard 997 GT2 was only around 60 units.

I'd guess this would be a limited run wouldn't it?

Be great to see what they come up with, will be a beast.
I Seem to recall, 45 997GT2s, UK and 18 997GT2RS.....
18 RS sounds about right - I think 997 GT2s were over 60 - posted on rennlist:

2008 34 cars

2009 28 cars

Run the car on book recommended figures only. May look a bit high in the photo as I pump tyres up about about 20% over book when in storage. Your note reminds me that I will have to get them checked before I set off!

No don't think so I tried to buy this car of a PHer before prices shot up. Sold for all the money by Alastair Bols. Owner now pootling around in a Macca 650 Spyder which cost about the same as the GT2 sold for. Super bit of business by the owner IMO. GT2 still alive. One of the nicest GT2s out there IMO.

Not to be confused with the red GT2 that Hendon Way Motors currently has for sale - very different cars - buyer do your own research!

I've been keeping a GT2 register for a few years now and I've only ever seen 2 red 997s around. I had a test drive in the Bristol OPC car in 2012, was a perfect spec, I've also seen the other one at Spa back in 2008, before it had the cage painted yellow.

If this is a different car (UK RHD) it would be great to know more about it, but I'd accept a "mind your own business" response too smile

It did have red stitched interior and was a 2008 car, but was LHD. The car was bought by somebody who wanted to use it and another car (or two) to create one whole GT2 again - he put it on a trailer to Italy and the work was being done there. I have not seen the car resurface, but given that mine probably could not contribute much more than an engine / or more likely engine parts, it would be difficult to ascertain.

I would rather buy a car that I actually want from a manufacturer that is willing to take my order.
I have no doubt the GT2 will be an amazing car, but as above I would rather buy a car that I can get my hands on and drive.

So that is what I did ... 991.1 Turbo S - sent it to Litchfield for mid-600s hp + HRE wheels and Cup2 tyres.

Am now about to depart for my fourth Euro trip in 18mths and not going to spend anytime thinking about a GT2 whilst flying around the mountain passes.

No criticism to those who want one, but I'm not playing that game with Porsche. I've bought something that is now very fast and I'm enjoying driving it.

You're not really playing any "game" with Porsche, you are their bh, dancing to their tune, you are seduced and enticed by the halo models but because you are not a "worthy" customer you end up buying a more mainstream Porsche model leaving the halo cars to the elite group and leaving you still aspirational but a loyal Porsche consumer.....they are pretty clever hehe
