A ride in the new Porsche 991.2 GT3: 7 things we learned: http://www.carmagazine.co.uk/features/car-culture/...
6) It’s probably already sold out…
Porsche claims the new GT3 is not a limited-edition model, but privately admits there is a capacity limit in the competition car department where it will be built. Our sources indicate that most of the 3000-4000 GT3s likely to be made were spoken for even before the GT3’s debut at the 2017 Geneva motor show. Better be prepared to pay overs if your name isn’t on the list…
7) The new GT3 pioneers a new sporting niche for Porschekind
Our Kacher (below left, with Porsche GT chief Andreas Preuninger) was impressed by his ride in the new GT3. ‘I’m trying to figure out - as well as you can from the passenger seat - whether this new car is a toned-down RS, a more extreme GTS, a ninja Turbo or an extrovert 911 R. In truth it has an identity all its own: it’s a more emotional yet softer-edged GT 911, an accessible yet utterly involving road racer, a special yet perfectly docile sports car. It’s the most complete GT3 yet.’

I got "no allocation left" from my OPC on a GT3...hey ho...life goes on...didn't expect one tbh.
It might well have been a bit of a tall order with a car history of one but having said that just keep asking them as you might be more lucky with the second round of allocations.Alternatively if you really want a GT3 then trade for GT4 for something like a GTS? Mine will be in the group as of next week!

A number of the smaller OPCs are evidently only receiving a maximum of 4 cars before year end........ roughly 1 a month. It appears even the larger OPCs are receiving around only 6 cars max on the first run. This equates to an average of 5 PDK cars on the first run this year confirming previous posts.
It appears some think there will only be 2 runs total for the UK......an average of 10 cars per OPC 4 of which will be 'manuel' but imo a third run of PDK and 'manuel' is likely confirming the anticipated average of just under 15 cars per OPC and a total UK production of c 480 cars.
Probably not quite as rare as the 991.1 then.
I had a coffee with my OPC Sales Manager this morning to discuss my impending Macan GTS and my 'hopeful' allocation of a GT3.
As of now they still do not have any build slots confirmed, but are expecting them to start in late August onwards with probably one slot per month. They have been told that the first slots probably won't get manual as an option and that CTS will be most likely available at the end of the year or in January.
He also said that there may be some more options coming onto the system (possibly the option to remove the Red Stripe from the seats and also Yellow stitching and the yellow band on the steering wheel, but couldn't confirm this 100% yet)
Regarding the Manual/PDK choice the majority of the people he is discussing new GT3 cars with are going PDK.

When there's a mule running around so obviously, the chances of the car have to be pretty high I'd say. https://www.autoevolution.com/news/new-porsche-911...
