Wonder if it is the first one restored by Porsche AG?

unique example of a Carrera 2.7 RS Touring. Car number 410. This particular RS has been subject to a full documented nut and bolt restoration by Porsche AG Germany with photographic evidence at each and every stage.

Never before has Porsche AG restored a 2.7 RS, Car number 410, UK Car RHD, The first 500 cars all had lightweight panels , This is the only car to be completely restored by Porsche AG using lightweight panels indeed Porsche AG manufactured for the first time since the original production run the lightweight panels for this car only, This is the only 911 2.7 RS, in history, to be restored by Porsche AG, The restoration has had no financial restrictions from both client or Porsche AG

Currently the only but may become the first i guess ??

makes me a little sad - somebody clearly spent a lot of money and waited a long time for it to be finished and then sells it after 400 miles (am sure the profit in there is substantial, but it is only money ...)

Was about to say the same. Not a very good reputation those tyres, but maybe fitted to these cars when they left the factory?

I'm sure this is the one restored by Porsche --- surely therefore the ride height would be standard ?

Does look odd though. Obviously having pristine, bright yellow painted inner arches exacerbates the space around the tyre, no doubt, but it does look high.

Friend of my Dad bought a Saab Carlsson (anyone remember those) and sent it back to the garage because the ride was harsh and the handling poor. Turns out someone had left the transit packing in the springs...

Torsion bars and shocks cmoose no springs. Ride height is truly awful. I think there are far better people out there to restore a 2.7 RS.

I actually think that your colour Andrew is slightly lighter (less yellow) and much nicer for that matter. Almost 1 million quid is ridiculous.

Deja-vu!

Hasn't this been for sale for nearly a year? If so, nice car but clearly over-priced.

As I understand, the market for these hit its peak in 2015, things bit more subdued now.

Porsche restored one for a customer a few years back, featured in Christophorus IIRC.

Although, some renowned specialists are quite critical of Porsche's own work.

And with good reason if some of the work I've seen (and the parts they're now producing for the early cars and 964's) are anything to go by.
Good for bragging rights, but little else.

I completely agree. If I were lucky enough to be looking to restore a 2.7RS one of the last places I would look to is Porsche AG or any OPC for that matter. The old school is long gone and the new school do not have a clue. As for RS prices softening. The RHD Lightweight that DK owned did quit well. That said I do not see the value in the 2.7RS. A 2.4S is not far off for a quarter of the price and in truth a very good example of a 3.2 is actually the better every day car.
