Does your OPC think there will be a Touring Pack?
My dealer says he's heard nothing.

I'm looking like October/Nov build - Miami - PCCB - PDK plus a shed load of other bits!

Would of been interested in the 'Touring Pack' but as theres no official word?

I was there on Monday and there was a Black 997 GT2RS, Lava 991 GT3RS and a White 991.1 GT3

I asked about the 991.2 GT3 but was told there had been a red one there for a few days but it was not there now?

Just booked my GT3 PEC day July 28 following my GTS PEC the day before.I can confirm it will be a PDK as no date has been given to them regarding the manual yet..

I have obviously been a little slow in looking at my emails this morning. I have just booked my experience for the 28th Aug..which was the first date that is now available. They don't have any manuals yet, so had to go with PDK only. They will be getting a manual but not before late Sept/Early Oct according to the lady I spoke to when booking. However will be a nice opportunity to see and drive a new GT3 before mine arrives in October.

I've incorporated mine in with a GT4 and a 991 Turbo S for comparison. When in Rome!
Me too, I'm finally getting round to my Cayenne S Diesel experience in the morning and the GT3 in the afternoon.

Cheib - did you do your Cayenne PEC?

Interesting to see the PTS palette of blues available. My current 997.2 turbo, which is going, is aqua blue and that colour really comes alive in bright sunshine. Even so, it's probably still a bit tame for a GT car and I'm happy with the standard sapphire rather than wait for a PTS window.

As for the touring pack, is that a tacit admission by Porsche that the spoiler doesn't really have a role to
play in real world driving?

The issue here is there is no such car available ?

I have not seen or heard any strong news about a wingless 4 seater GT3 still.
I've heard some quite solid rumblings from 2 UK GT3 buyers where OPC said verbally it'll be available next year with either hounds tooth or corduroy but 2 not 4 seats.
+1. My dealer confirmed orally that Touring Pack will be offered (never heard about 4 seats though which I don't want) and that he will ensure I get such a car. Don't know anything on the specific date though but I am in no hurry as long as I get what I want

It would be good to know what its like as I swapped my Cayenne Diesel S for the Turbo S on the day.
I still have a spare PEC day so if you rate it let me know and I'll do it later this year.
Yes I did...really enjoyed it. Amazing how capable it was around the handling circuit...because of it's bulk it really rewards you when you get it right and equally when you get it wrong. I am no driving god but I overtook a 911 Turbo S a couple of times...more to do with how unbelievably slowly it was being driven.

I will take mine to the alps so was especially interested in the ice hill (especially going down it)....the off road course is good if quite small too. Shows you what the car can do and really also shows it's capabilities with the locking diffs etc which rivals like the X5 don't have.

The instructor also made me sit a lot lower in the car which felt very odd but I really like it now....all about the vision. If you sit high up as I used to (long legs) it means you see a lot of bonnet which means your vision gets drawn to it. Lower down there's no bonnet so your vision is where it should be. I already did it in my 911 but hadn't really ever thought of doing so in the Cayenne.

Apparently i was given wrong info this morning and due having to run an errand today and forgetting my mobile didn't find out until an hour ago. There is no GT3 available until August and by the time i called them back all GT3 PEC days were fully booked until Sept 18 which i booked. The one silver lining to this catastrophe is maybe manual will be available to compare. The girl i spoke to at the PEC this afternoon mentioned an even split between manual and PDK and she much preferred PDK for fast track work and manual for road driving and seemed quite knowledgeable.

So you not going to have a GT3 if you cannot get what you want ?

I have seen GTS with hounds tooth buckets, I guess you can buy what you want if you ask them nice and pay extra for exclusive seats, but that's a way off a de winged 4 seater GT3 rumor.

You're right. Hopefully Mr Catchpole will do one.
