Liking the GT silver with non black wheels that would be my choice if I was lucky enough!

"Manual seems very popular. Someone on here was saying that manual is not at all popular and everyone wants PDK these day! "

I don't know who you mean?;)

PDK was never an option for me, my "special" car needs to be a proper drivers car which means manual. The new GT3 is replacing a manual V12 Vantage that I have just sold, which replaced a 997.1 GT3. My daily driver (F80 M3) is dual clutch, makes sense when it is used in all conditions and start/stop traffic but when it is all just about driving nothing can live up to a good 6 speed manual.

Latest Porsche News Letter has just landed. Apparently all models now come with Connect Plus and Nav. Assume that means updated infotainment will feature on all GT3's manufactured after the August holidays.

winkPorsche reckon that the GT3 will weigh 1430 Kilos; so if the car is specced with CS, PCCB's and fixed buckets will it be lighter than that quoted figure. Car will be PDK as well.
Just the musings of an anxious future owner.

Not a clue what Connect Plus is. Please explain.

I don't quite know but reads like it is the same as BMW On-Line and the connected drive functions.

"The connect plus module delivers an extraordinary level of in-car connectivity, seamlessly connecting you to your device, your Porsche apps and the world around you. You can even record and analyse your driving performance. It brings you and your Porsche closer than ever."

It's mobile internet via your smartphone or the 4G module. So you can get real-time traffic, map updates etc. And your phone can sync to the Nav e.g. for meetings etc. if that's your thing. Quite a step on from PCM and looking forward to it.

I'd have carbon, along with carbon sills, to match the LWBs.

Failing that, painted GT silver is probably best out of your choices. Make sure you spec the Smokers Pack too if you haven't already, it cleans up the centre console nicely.
Thanks for the heads up. The smokers pack is well worth it and I've added it to my order. I've only ever found the coin try to be a dust-trap. Will look at retrofitting to my other car.

You're welcome smile It used to be free but at £35 it's worth it for the extra 12v socket.

In reality it will be virtually impossible to spec a 1430kg PDK GT3 unless you delete CS and PCM and add LWBS and PCCBs..You'll have to stick with the lighter standard lights and not spec Front lift, rear camera etc....

^ this, Porsche factory quoted weights are farcical. Customer cars are going to be almost 1500kg fully fuelled I reckon.

My dealer has confirmed delivery as 8th December which is not the best news and later than I would have liked. I'll probably use it for a week or two then SORN it until the Spring at which point a 488 GTB will also be in the picture.

Does anyone know if VTS (Porsche tracking system if car gets stolen) is standard or not?

Yes, VTS is standard and you take out an annual subscription with Vodafone Automotive, Cobra as was. £215. Works well, I raised my 991, alarm went off and they were on the phone in 2 minutes.

Edit: Actually think the service provision has changed with the .2 but am certain VTS is provided as standard in U.K. Spec cars.

Well done, two great cars-I bet you are looking forward to some spirited Spring driving.

The GT3 will also hopefully be a "hedge" buy and help to blunt the losses on the 488GTB.

Porsche car connect is free for 6 months and then after that you have to subscribe. X amount for tracking and then more X amount for pointless features. Porsche need to up their game in this respect!

Just for reference. Same sort of features are free with my 2017 Range Rover Sport for 3 years and includes remote start too for either warming or cooling the interior.
