Andrew - good evening chap , I hope that this post finds you well ? Wonky stickers are cool - everyone knows that - at least I can post a photo the right way up - just saying whistle
Carbon mirror caps would look good with your spec R.
Did debate it and would have added them if I’d gone White but I’m not a massive fan of the way the edge works near the front of the mirror - think it works well in white due to the monochrome effect - I am happy to be proven wrong if I can see an image from a few angles - where’s Phooey when you need him - in fact , where is Phooey - he’s gone off grid ?

I think you'd get a similar effect with silver. In the flesh they are beautiful things. Together with the carbon in the car, seats, dash and sills it really adds a bit more occasion and uniqueness. I've not seen many uk cars with them. I guess they are quite expensive at 700 spondoolies.

For me GTSM and carbon it a really good combination.

Here's a pic of mine.

Who’s Donna - do I know her ? smile

You’re back - thought we’d lost you for a moment.

Quick question - can we talk wheels : are yours expensive or cheap silver - any thoughts on the difference - haven't seen either in the flesh - I’ve gone basic as I’m told they are brighter ?

Cheers - They are very nice on white - in truth though I’ve not gone carbon inside - I really love the dark brushed aluminium so I think I’ll stick .

Did I see a post re Oulton or did I dream it ? I think it’s March 5th ish - can’t see on the site - I don’t think that the car will be here by then and I will be GT4 and RS less by then frown

Friday 9th March. I'm sure you could bag some pax laps at the very least.

Congratulations on the allocation. Enjoy the greasy elephant's foot!

Coincidentally I have gone for only one shade of Metallic Grey (Agate) with deviated stitching laugh I specified my car yesterday (Friday) for Feb build/Mar delivery. Many thanks to all those posters who contributed to this forum, it's been a great help in narrowing down colour choices and so on.

Spec is: Agate, Satin Black wheels, Ceramics, Black LEDs, PDK, Lift, Clubsport with Folding Buckets, deviated stitching in yellow with yellow seatbelts.
Congratulations John, cracking colour combination choice, will look stunning.

Oh, no problem, I can now bore everyone stless with “spec stress” . I can do this in multiple phases : all delicately different on the face of it but underneath they are in fact , identical :

Phase 1. Pre lockdown : is it this or that , shall I add this , take off that. What do you all think about XYZ - the list is endless & will stretch out until lockdown - colour changes galore I imagine.

Phase 2. The Post lockdown phase : the panic sets in - I’ll need constant re assurance - it will be draining for you all.

Phase 3 - the trickiest phase of the lot : Post lockdown spec error remorse - an ugly and dark phase - I don’t want to pre emp this phase by describing the depths of despair and self doubt and loathing that this phase delivers.

Phase 4 Delivery - anything can happen in this phase - it’s high risk stuff at this stage .

So, um, yeah - lots to come - not really cut out for this type of thing - should be better at it really as I’ve had a lot of practice - you see the self doubt is already starting ...........

Well I may as well jump on the band wagon. I have to lock my spec down early next week. Would appreciate your thoughts on the following spec for my Touring. My dilemma is keen for PCCB's but then the yellow callipers are not going to compliment the red stitching I am after and I think plain black interior looks bland. I am also unsure on satin platinum wheels or satin black to go with agate grey. Would appreciate any feedback... :-)

Spec looks great only thing I would possibly add would be red seat belts

Personally I'd go silvercwherls on an agate car for contrast. I love platinum on a lighter car or even black with pccb's but not grey.

Can you option yellow stitching on the Touring? I thought it was just red or black?

Thanks for the feedback. You can only option red stitching or just plain black. I would probably have gone with yellow stitching and PCCBs if it was on offer, but no such luck.

Yes it's a shame as yellow would be great on your spec. I guess if pccb's then grey stitch but really red on the interior and pccb's is also fine in reality?

I asked the question and it is a CCX Exclusive option costing £20k (All for a seamstress to swap over the bobbin from red to yellow thread) madmad

At £2.5-3k it would have been an easy sell for me and made Porsche lots of money for no extra cost.....

I agree about the Platinum wheels on Agate, the lighter silver wheels would look great I think. In fact I think Platinum are my least favourite wheels...for me depending on the colour I'd rather have either Silver or Black.

Very pleased to hear your news having been amused and anxious in equal measure as to how the soap opera would turn out.

If you spec is locked the following may be too late but I have GTSM with standard “free” wheels. Parked next to a GR car with platinum the difference is pretty marginal and certainly not worth £700. But if more shiny is your wheel of choice then standard will do it. On a matter of detail, proper drivers scoff at the black door handles on my car but their wives all think it shows I have good taste. laugh

Have now hit 1800 and ready to let it off the leash albeit the handbook says the actual figure is 1865.

Oulton RS day is 9th March. Will be there but not sure what in.

I'd had exhaust welded by one of our coded welder sat work a day or so before. Car ran faultlessly on the day, so no pit work required.
