Just interested, so are you Guys saying that you have all got factory confirmed builds together with build dates and commission numbers?
I have been advised by my OPC that I have been given one of their 12-car allocation, they've taken a £10k deposit, and have issued me with a countersigned (and hence binding) purchase agreement. Nobody in the UK knows build slot dates yet, at least not that I'm aware. Judging by the timeframe for the 2013 GT3 launch, build slot dates for the UK should be advised in the coming week or so.

My dealer expects the first cars to be locked down in the next week or so with a build pre-shutdown and perhaps delivery in August.

But he keen to stress nothing is set in stone yet regarding timeframes.

I'm pretty sure my dealer doesn't have 12 cars!

has anyone seen the review on Drivetribe, the car looks transformed on silver rims!!
I have and also agree with you on the wheels..My current spec is black wheels however after seeing this video i'm leaning towards silver which really show off the stunning wheel design whereas the black rims masks them.Another big plus point is they're free although Pccbs will be needed to keep them clean.
I was one of the few to have silver wheels on my white 991 GT3 and i really don't like dark/black wheels. However I'm in a bit of a muddle as not really sure silver wheels go with Crayon as its more of a moody look. You lose so much detail with black wheels scratchchin
Completely agree - silver wheels brilliant especially with GT Silver. As demonstrated by GT4 for sale at Porsche Edinburgh

This is a good written review on Top Gear https://www.topgear.com/car-reviews/porsche/gt3-2d...

Mentions that it makes little different whether the Sports Exhaust is on or off to the noise in the cabin....so no need to tick that Bose box. My impression from watching the video reviews today was that you certainly get plenty of engine noise in the cabin which is fantastic.

There's a great short vid at the end of it doing a launch control start into a tunnel biggrin

What colour are the wheels on the Crayon car - platinum?

That is my understanding as well though allocation and build I reckon will be further ahead.

Couldn't agree more!
On most performance cars, someone somewhere has spent a long time perfecting the design of the wheel...why anyone would choose to hide them, have the car look like it has steelies or has lost a 'hubcap' is beyond me... I know I know each to their own, wouldn't life be boring etc...
I can live with most things but black wheels get under my skin for some reason hehe.
Go dark ...but not black imo

You need a contract in my opinion. I think the Crayon with black wheels looks lovely!

And a contrast smile

I agree. Very dependent on the colour you go with...Sapphire Blue I think the lighter wheels definitely work....Guards Red I think Black. I also think because of the black accents on the car (front air dam, rear air scoops and end plates on the wing) none of which were on the 991.1 that the black wheels go much better on the .2

Crayon definitely needs black wheels IMO

Black always looks better in real life than on Photo's on wheels.

A bit like all these insipid colors look st in real life and are saturated in photos and look good.

It seems normal for Porsche to me that actual build slots don't get allocated until a couple of months before they are due and even once you get a build date it seems that there the possibility that it can move forward or back by a good couple of weeks ?

I think it would help all of us if once people get better ideas of allocation slots and build dates they post it.

We've got a Boxster on order for Mrs Cheib which is being built in August (we think) but no firm build date yet.

100%. The day I hear from my OPC with confirmed dates, I'll post them.
Folks in the US all seem to know their dates already, which is odd, but I guess they just operate differently there.

I know what you mean, I was considering Racing Yellow and while it looks good in the pictures it looks terrible in the metal!

Agreed. My incoming GTS cabriolet is Crayon, black wheels, PCCBs - lots of contrast, hoping it looks as good.

This has got to be the best looking so far! Not a fan of black wheels to " Essex boy racer" for my liking, hide the wheels shape and attract dirt, got to be silver or platinum IMHO !
