I know a few people aren't a fan of black wheels but it looks very different with the red pinstripe and if you'll excuse me for using the phrase 'fresh'.

Re white, I know its been done to death esp on GT3's of the 991 and 997 gen but try and find a 996 GT3 in white... its a Porsche colour going back decades. It'll never go away and neither will black, they are classic colours. They have stood the test of time for a reason in my opinion but it does seem that less people are going white so could be a rare-ish colour?

Keep the pics coming Phooey!

Please forgive the rather dull question....

Why does the red leather interior have an addition £834 compulsory option for stitching and not the grey leather interior?

On the configurator, it looks like you get just as much deviated stitching (in grey) as the red without the cost?

Welcome to the world of mystical black arts of the Porsche confounderator where deception and illusion have been honed to a fine art..! The coloured stitching dilemma where red thread costs £834 more than silver thread was exactly the same when i specced my GT4 and the reason i chose silver stitching then and will do so again with the GT3. Other examples of pricing confusion on the GT3.2 are as follows:

GT3 GT4
£ £

Pccb 6500 4977
LWBS 3400 1907
Clubsport free 2700
Leather 2200 1000
Also examine the prices of the special colours on the GT3 at £2520 when they cost only £1800 on other 991s. In all fairness to Porsche its all transparent and basically means they decide on the rules to the game and it is the punters choice on whether they want to play or not...

Totally agree. £834 for Doris to walk to the cupboard and get a spindle of red cotton is a tad hard to justify. Saying that, I did pay for her to drop some (yellow) into my GT4 so seems we are prepared to pay for it. In all honesty I found the yellow stitching a bit much and would rather have dark grey / black stitching. Not a big fan of deviated stitching - it's a bit yesterday

Good choice breadvan, I'm PDK / Miami blue / PCCB / LWB and other bits and bobs but went for standard wheels. Very close to ordering aluminium but haven't seen them together to justify another £700. What persuaded you on aluminium with the same colour combination?

Hi all - has anyone UK-based who has previously been told they've secured an allocation *not* received their build slot date yet?

My OPC are telling me they've had "some" slot dates confirmed though not yet mine, which makes me suspect I've been bumped into 2018 for my car.

Anyone else?

Black wheels look fine in real life esp gloss black. A lot is lost in a picture.
Also black offsets the solid brighter colours, like Yellow, red etc.

All personal anyway, I am not a fan of Porsche matt black wheels. Gloss black or Silver for me depends on car colour.

I've owned a car with lovely dark iconic alloys.
They only worked because I carried a cloth around with me to keep them gloss.
20 mins into a drive, thy looked cheap and lost
Even grubby silver (or a bit brighter anyway) look better....imo....
I'm getting grumpy (er) in my old age....tints and black wheels get right up my'ooter hehe
Along with young couples with their first child who sell a perfectly roomy family car in order to own a mini-SUV "cos it's more spacious and safer"...

anyway.... yeah..carry on...ignore me, I'm only an envious armchair commentator frown

The picture above of the G.B. car isn't particularly flattering - the dark tints, red callipers, and naff stripe don't do it any favours. I like black wheels, but not wit this combo.

that side tint just ruins the beautiful and unique 911 window shape.

It's a shape that you would miss out on in the past if you, for instance, bought a 993 or 964 cab rather than coupe.

Why anyone would choose to 'semi-tint' like this just because it's not legal in the US to have all windows tinted (and maybe here?) so Porsche can't offer the full tint option, is beyond me!!

Me! Though I was told up front that it was a 2018 car I'd be getting rather than the date slipping...given I want a manual that rules out the first few months of production anyway. I'd assume that Q1 2018 build slots/allocations will start being firmed up/order forms signed in September/October.

Even though I have been told I am getting a 2018 car I am trying to keep my expectations in check as until I have that signed order form etc things can change.
