@ Taffy66: thanks !

I run 30 F and R so the central wear on a single front tyre comes from tyre deformation (soft walls I think) rather than on too much air : )

Is someone coming to Ring and Spa next Tuesday and Wednesday?

You need to buy a pyro imo and see what temps across the tyre are doing.
Have you got a track geo on the car atm ? Or the safe road stock geo ?

Yellow Italian GT3, happy to meet you there : )

@911R...track alignment with about 2°30’ camber front and rear, a bit too much caster F as still on stock front lower arms.
Minimal toe out F and 10’ toe in per wheel R.
Will decide if buying Cup braces after the Ring depending on how much rubbing I have as I like the handling as it is now.

I'll see you both there smile

Staying in hotel de la source the night before.

I'll be in the PT Sportscars garage as my Caterham's going too.

Deffo. I sold the 981 Spyder, but the 987 has something special about it (the steering!) and I love how it looks - prettiest Porsche I’ve owned.

Were you able to get 2.30 F/R Camber on stock or did you have to add shims on the front..With regards to the rear i personally would have Toe as close to zero to avoid upsetting the ultra sensitive algorithm of the RWS..

one would always have to use shims to get anywhere close to that Camber prob 5 to 8mm worth, I class adding shims as stock as that is what GT3 LCA are stock items with shims.
The issue is no caster adjustment over 2.5 degree's but it seems one might not need to go that mental on the 991 GT3.
Any thing above that you have to go away from stock parts due to no caster adjustments.

you need rear toe to keep the car going in a straight line !
I am not sure why you are saying to every one on here (and Rennlist I see) have zero rear toe !

the car stock has +10` per side putting the rear at zero would be a BIG error !!! and hence advice off forums is dangerous imo !!!

Only the case with the .1 settings. the .2 has as 911R says, factory recommended +10' rear toe in each side.

Thanks for that..I wrongly assumed that stock Toe were the same between .1 and .2..In which case i would leave the rear Toe at factory settings..
Having said that IME new Porsches seldom leave the PDI with perfect alignment and more often than not, need a geo after delivery..I would also be very wary of playing too much with the rear geo as too much camber can easily upset the RWS ..

It’s worth a geo after 1000 miles imo, I,ll keep rear toe stock, but up the front camber to -2.0 and the rear to about -1.8 and see what that’s like, I,ll also remove the front toe in for dead straight, I might add front monoball ends for slightly better steering feel, and monoball rear toe link to stop anything moving under brakes. I am not after a track set up, just mental fast road which can take a track day if I wish. I tend to do this with all my cars and it works for me very well without going crazy.
