Try not down shifting but just disengaging the gear and braking to a stop. No drama created. The auto blip is only when it re engages the next gear.
Yes thanks, I've done 6000 miles in a GT4 smile
I just switch it off when driving in town.

Isn't that the truth!

My OPC sales contact had a customer who got properly stuck into the "Exclusive" options for his Turbo S......Alcantara steering wheel with contrast stitching ? £3500! The total price of the car was eye watering.
My turbo S has alcantara steering wheel and contrast stitching. It is yum

Funny old world.

When speccing a new 650S I paid an extra £1000 to have the (free) £500 option alcantara steering wheel deleted and returned to the basic NCO leather one.

Fortunately, on the GT3 leather is NCO.

Just saying you don't need to switch it off.
Yes indeed, it could just as easily be labelled the 'knob' switch for those that want to be seen in town!

Given up trying to work out why the options on cars cost what they do!
Not sure why painting a caliper or using a different colour thread costs more, especially when both are already used by the same manufacturer.

Because people will pay so why not charge for it, good business model.

Porsche Mayfair had a Crayon Panamera Turbo in the window when I walked past.....I've ruled that out. Despite it being close to Sport Classic Grey it's quite different. Really don't think it's £2.5k special. If I was going to spend that much on paint and could get PTS I would definitely spend the extra. In fact I don't think any of the "Special" colours are worth the money but definitely think PTS is.

Totally Agree. Kendal Porsche has a Crayon Panamera with Black Sport Design wheels and it looks ok on the car but not a GT3 colour for me.

The standard GT3 colours are very good and PTS in my opinion is worth the extra money if I can get it.

I know some people want a less shouty colour but doesn't agate look dull! I quite like the lava actually, at least its bright and cheerful.

Maybe I was a bit harsh and I am sure in the flesh it will look ok with I just reckon its a bit of a shame to have a dark grey colour on such an extravagant machine.

Lava is very light sensitive....it looks much better inside under artificial light than it does outside. It can look really washed out....the Lava Turbo S I see regularly near me looks quite flat/dull.

Interesting item in Junes Car magazine article comparing the 1.2 GT3 with an AMG GT R:

"Or if you fancy something a little lower-key than the GT3, look out for the X90 Touring Pack version. Only available in manual transmission form, it trades in the flash wingwork and the racy interior for the more subtle aero kit of the discontinued 911 R and a period leather-with-corduroy trim."

Anybody seen this?

Second time I've read / heard Porsche plan to build 3500 GT3's

3500 is about correct from what I have read with 10% coming to the UK.

This ties in with 34 OPC's getting an average of 10 each over the 2017 and 2018 production runs. Obviously some bigger OPC's will get a better allocation than smaller ones.
