Just don’t think you can read anything into the popularity of Manual vs PDK either from reading PH or looking at the number for sale of each car!

Maybe their are a lot of manual cars around now because people specced them that way as the flippers spec or maybe people specced the manual and regret it. Who knows !

I love my manual GT3 but I’ve got my manual 997 GTS out today and if anything the GT3 has made me appreciate what a well rounded car the GTS is. GT3 is more intense and rewarding in so many ways but the GTS is just a great car. Really need to drive a manual T to see how it compares.

I have a hunch you’ll prefer your GTS to a manual T smile

Just looked at the Porsche used car website, with 23 new gen GT3s for sale and not selling at all..Nearly all have dropped their asking prices by as much as £10k in some instances..The manual cars seem to be cheaper on average which i find rather odd..

I wonder if its a sign of the times, or something rather more sinister..! As in way more GT3s sold than they let on..
I know talk about flipping is tedious, but having this many up for sale with most having delivery mileage makes a complete mockery of the brand and dealers. Make a quick buck today but aggravate some solid long term customers doesn’t make good business sense in my view. In any event I don’t suppose premiums will last at these levels, good luck to those greedy dealers.

Nothing new.

Just a repeat of the 991.1 GT3 and GT4 scenarios a few years back.

Just come back from a run in my GT3 where i had a run in with the local constabulary..The officer in question who stopped me is well known for being a ccensorednt who derives enormous pleasure from antagonising the locals for minor motoring offences..His attitude and demeanour was frankly disgusting, and as a good as an example of why cops have gained the somewhat unfortunate but accurate comparison with 'pigs'.
Needless to say it resulted in me being issued with a £100 Fixed penalty notice for failing to display a front number plate.

To everybody without a front plate my advice is getting one asap in case you run in with another Westbury.copyuck.

Feck it, without sounding blasé, what's 100 quid in the context of ruining the front of a GT car! Are you gonna put one on?
Sounds like a job's worth type who'll look out for you...

For once, I have to agree with Mr D.

If you break the law, you can't blame the Police for stopping and fining you.

Front no. plates are used for recognition purposes and a lot of serious crimes are detected/prevented using ANPR.

Agree. It’s a clear breach of the law. 100 quid and no points is very light, and the reason why so many people don’t fit a front plate. I am not one to talk about a relaxed attitude to motoring laws (speeding laws are now utterly inappropriate for modern cars and roads), but something as blatant as choosing not to fit a front numberplate is asking for a pull, sorry.

If there’s a well known over-zealous local copper always spoiling for a pull for minor traffic offences, why would you go out for a drive without a front number plate? Seems like asking for trouble.

Not sure why anyone would think they are entitled to drive without one, just because it “looks better”. Vinyl plate on the front of a GT3 looks pretty cool IMHO.

Doubt that its public info soon anyhow more likely just way more getting flipped as it becomes a sure thing - and so even less directly into the hands of genuine buyers

Now just over 2100 miles after carefully running in. Starting to enjoy the tunes only 9k can deliver. Yes a run would be just what the doctor ordered.

I was stopped a couple of weeks ago but the officers explained that, if my car was stolen, they’d only get a hit on the rear plate with ANPR and my car could be long gone. Then I was asked if I watched Star Trek to which I replied yes. The officer then said that my car was “lit up like a Klingon Warbird” all over ANPR. I nearly fell over laughing but his point was well made.

They were firm but friendly. They also suggested the possibility of a vinyl plate. We need more officers like them and fewer like yours.
