Can I ask how many gen 2 owners have tracked their cars?
Yes I have in the same way that I did in my 996 and 997 GT3's. DN18 and the car was mega. Having had 4 manual GT3's prior to the 991.2 I went PDK and have absolutely no regrets.Off on a euro tour next week so after that the car will probably be worthless

2 manuals been sold off the OPC list,so down to only 7 manuals, 6 doom blue , one yellow with gash air vents !
I am still wowed by my GT3 in Manual as is every one who’s been in it to date, imo PDK don’t work with the car and is the RS choice.
Cheap car at £30k overs as there has only ever been one other 4.0l Manual GT3 and that’s 1/2 a mil.
So the nayslayers hoping for list are dreaming imo, if anything they will go up lol :-p nothing even close to it from any manafacture on the market, PDK opens up Ferrari and lambo and those buyers are buying those cars vs paying overs for an automatic GT3.
If I wanted a auto toady I would be picking up a AMG GTR £20k below list, great car at the money now.
4.0 Manual GT3, it’s a modern classic already, what a stunning drivers car.
Only car I have been in the last few years which makes me say wow and I giggle to myself.
Had a great day out today on a Prodrive factory tour, had a run in with the bmw owners club on my route back and thumbs up by every one.
Went to Top555 Thursday for their open night, it's amazing to go to super cars meets and realise you drive one of the only manuals there bar the baby GT4's.
Even Adam said it's the first manual GT3 he has seen at a meet up, what the fks wrong with people ? :-)
Emperors new clothes.........I did think it was that good to warrant the hype and manual gearboxes should only be fitted to cars with windy up windows.I am still wowed by my GT3 in Manual as is every one who’s been in it to date, imo PDK don’t work with the car and is the RS choice.

Bizarre post ; If you like manul cars the 991.2 GT3 with a manual box is automotive perfection for road driving. I’ve driven a lot of Porsche’s finest and this gets pretty close IMHO
I don't do manual gearboxes any more and a GT3 wouldn't see which way a turbo S went, as I said GT3 is emperors new clothes, too much bks spoken without properly driving one.ted 191 said:

Actually, in truth, in a straight line, a PDK 991.2 GTS is also quicker than a 991.2 Manual GT3.
However, a 991.2 Manual GT3 and a Turbo S are such different cars - although both are 911’s in reality, they are utterly incomparable on so many levels.
I have driven a Turbo S and I can quite categorically state that I couldn’t care less about it leaving a GT3 behind - if this is your measure of what makes a fine car then you will never get why a manual GT3 exists - IMHO one is a visceral engaging driving experience; an attack on your senses on so many levels, whilst the other is admittedly brutally efficient, but actually in my view, ultimately quite dull - but we all like different things so that’s good

That is most people view today, when did you give up enjoying driving ?My dads 88 would not touch a turbo or automatic car, big ups to my dad :-).
I can understand why most people just want transport with a automatic a nice badge and a bit of poke though.
Is what it is I guess, and hence Porsche make a car for every one in most price brackets.

991 Turbos Imv is the best all round car, no question. But other than its warp like speed its a bit bland to drive to say the least. Based on my experience as for track car, it has about 3/4 very fast laps then a GT3.2PDK will be long gone. Tyres and brake cooling being the weak points. My dads 88 would not touch a turbo or automatic car, big ups to my dad :-).

C’mon guys, lets not get onto the old my cars better than yours bks, each to their own and its largley down to driver ability anyway!
I love my pdk turboS, i had a Manual 997.1 turbo before which i tracked, different cars but both bloody competent at what they do.
This manual over pdk chat is just utter tosh as they are both great, F1 drivers must be st with their non manual gearboxes eh!!!!
I’d love a GT3, whether it be manual or pdk, just to have one would be nice. Lets have a bit of civility otherwise ill get the mods to ban you both (I have neither the authority or power to do so by the way) and banish you to the saxo forums where you can willy wave all you like

Maybe they are compared to the old timers!!A modern F1 car is automatic and full of electronics so easy to drive compared to the manual racers of old. Real men in those days when Motorsport was hard and dangerous. Real skill needed too

Unfortunately, this is Porsche ownership in my experience
As my wife says, we're "Cayman scum" so we don't give a stuff about everyone else and enjoy ourselves our way!
Not exactly true, the 981s have not been unknown turn their noses down on the 718s and the gt4 s on the gts, gts on the s and so on and so forth....same as the 911s! As my wife says, we're "Cayman scum" so we don't give a stuff about everyone else and enjoy ourselves our way!

Very true, and I'm guilty as charged online when it comes to my view of the 718 engines - not the owners I might add. In real life I'd love to talk to other Porsche owners about their cars etc but the attitude of almost everyone we meet stinks.Anyway, sorry to derail the thread

It would be a pleasure to chat with you, I try my best not to claim my cars better than yours, etc, I like all porsches in their own way, they are Porsche but different. Edited by Twinfan on Sunday 24th June 10:20
