Poor s/h GT3 selection

Regarding speccing for the second owner I think that's my point -- it seems people are doing just that by playing safe. If I had the good fortune to order a new GT3 I'd be speccing it for me and that'd show in an "unsafe" colour particularly.
Oh sure it'd be the finest one out there too
My fantasy GT3 game has allowed me to create what's totally perfect for me without any regard to price at all and still come in comfortably under 140k. Surely this has to be the performance car bargain of the century???
How much more to RS models come in on the pricelist normally?
My ideal spec is Buckets, Manual and PCCB's i.e. "R Spec"....I am toying with going CS just because it's a) Free and b) Is seen as a "must have" by many. Oh sure it'd be the finest one out there too

Thing is I am buying the car as a keeper so I don't really care what other people see as a "must have" but then because it's a keeper there is part of me thinking I might have more time to do track days when the kids are older!
My perfect GT3 would be knocking £140k because it would be PTS with a couple of other CXX options. If I can do it I will! Every chance this will be my only chance to spec a new GT car...I think it will become ever harder to get allocations for these cars.

Top 555 have just tweeted they've taken a 991.1 GT3 into stock....

Sounds daft but good cars sell on the back of Twitter in these crazy times and never make websites.
That has got to be Mr JWW's car I reckon as he's recently mentioned it's going. Will probably have good mileage as he said he's covered 20K in the past year in it. https://twitter.com/TOP555Cars/status/852157975976...

It has a Sharkwerks exhaust, which IIRC was something JWW was on about. Also wondered how a non-OEM exhaust (potentially) affects warranty?

How much it affects it is down to your OPC and your relationship with them....so you're best checking with them! What is 100% definite is that if you want to extend your warranty that the car has to be absolutely 100% OEM. People that have the Sharkwerks cross pipes fitted to 997's generally keep the OEM parts to put them back on come warranty time. Digga said:

I've always wondered the same as so many people seem to be doing it. I would have thought a non-OEM exhaust must invalidate your warranty unless you're best mates with your OPC and they may turn a blind eye. I suppose if you did have major warranty issues, then you could always put the OEM one back on.
The manufacturer's warranty is a totally different beast to the (similar sounding) extended warranty.
I think in three years a problem can only be shirked if there's proof a modification away from OEM caused it, after that you're following the terms of the insurance contract which states anything non-OEM will invalidate a claim.

OPC Wolverhampton have taken things to a whole new level....they've got a 500 mile (basic) Comfort Spec car up for £162k! That won't take long to sell! Another OPC recently had a very good (but still comfort) 500 mile PTS car up for £145k which sold very quickly when the new car was announced at Geneva.

It frustrating to see some poor choice of colour/options in the 991.2 gt3 thread,
Ah yes, that often used quote, 'Please consider the second owner when speccing your car......' So, what do you mean when you say poor?
A lack of imagination with colour and spec? Not being true to the brand of GT3?
I'm really getting a lot from PH and I've already changed my spec - back to alcantara wheel - based on feedback here. Please keep it coming, I don't want my car to become a poor s/h selection.
ETA It sounds like I'm a flipper! Not intended....

It you want to drive the car enthusiastically leather is a terrible choice for a steering wheel from my experience (sweating when 'on it' really can be a bit scary with leather) . I recently changed from a leather to Alcantara and it is so much better. They can be simply cleaned with a lightly soaped damp cloth every few months to be kept in good order. For normal driving though ignore the above and choose what appeals more to you visually.

I thought the ideal 991.1 GT3 was a late one fitted with the engine it came from the factory therefore all the 2014 cars seem to stick around a bit?
Tbh the most ideal one imo would be one that has had to change it's engine (whole engine replacement not top end rebuild) as recently as possible as in within the last half year. Unless you got one of the very last gt3s the first 2 years of gt3s have had a good number of cars needing new engines whether or not the engine swap took place at the factory for the first recall.Digga said:
