I'm thinking of fitting a bench seat in lieu of buckets and replacing the rear side windows with sheet metal with my company name on it to claim the VAT back...When i suggested this to my sales guy he was speechless with horror..!.I'm wondering on whether this could affect resale value as i'm a professional flipper by trade...
Actually i'm only joking and my ideal spec would be White/GT silver, manual, Pccbs, folding buckets and clubsport delete in the smug knowledge of having a cut price 991R. However when it comes to the crunch i'd probably go full buckets,Pccbs, clubsport and PDK for the ultimate track weapon..

Would you consider putting 'Daihatsu Fourtrak' on the back too?! You'd definitely fool the taxman then!

I daily drove my 997.2 GT3 touring for a couple of years. If you were a real hardcore enthusiast you would do the same and I would suspect that for this the ideal spec would be manual (of course), folding buckets and PCCB. For my way of thinking, you'd only spec a CS if it was going to be a weekend or occasional drive car, which for most they are so you can understand why they'd want the "theatre" of having a cage.

I think you could buy a GT3RS without the cage too, I would most certainly have speced on that way if I was in the market at the time.

On the fixed Vs. folding buckets, I much prefer the folding, I found my shoulders started to ache with the fixed, but I don't get that in the folding. I think the folding look better and you have the added advantage of them being folding. I have never found the height of them a problem either.

I recently removed the front cage extension in my GT3RS and the car is so much more useable now; no more assault course getting in and out, I can now use the wing mirrors and mirror switches, more space... I wouldn't dream of removing the rear cage though. As mentioned above it does add to the theater

I wouldn't want to drive a car with the front cage on the road but just me I suppose.

As far as the clubsport pack is concerned, it's a simple issue of harnesses - you'd want to use them on track.

well it's not really a good idea to drive with a full rollcage and no helmet, as if you crash with no helmet you bash your skull on the frame and die !!!

should be ok if you are wearing a harness and not just a seat belt.

properly tightened, the harness should hold you in place

Just looked on the AUC site....7 cars. All Comfort Spec with "normal" seats. So I guess that answers the question to an extent.

There are obviously a few Clubsport specs at specialist dealers though.

Well ........

I am going
- pdk
- 18 way seats.
- full leather dash
- leather steering col
- plus the creature comforts

I will never track it - I just enjoy having a car that makes me smile

I know that many think that approach is "disgraceful" but we are all different

I think you are actually in the majority to be honest! We are indeed all different which is why we all seem to argue so much on here!

Seems not but the sentiment is that pdk, comfort seats etc are best seen in a 5 series BMW or similar

Unless you are hard core .......................... not for me

For me , its the sheer enjoyment and privilege of having one of these that does it for me

And saying "how lucky am I "
