What are your plans for the car?
The plan is that it should still look like this:

But with Ohlins suspension and a 3.7 litre X51 engine.

I agree with advice given to get an agreed valuation. I pay £20 every two years to classic line ins co for an agreed valuation. I have an Ocean Blue '98 C2 manual with full black leather, hard backed sports seats, GT3 rims, £104k miles, very full history and maintained and serviced every single year. Very good condition. Full Hartech rebuild 5k miles ag. Current valuation a £13k but I am quite confident that this will keep rising steadily.
That is a terrible valuation! Easily £3k-£5k under valued.

I bought my '99 C2 manual coupe with 56k miles on it in January for 15k. It's a very tidy car that's had lots of money spent in the last few years, not to mention a full Hartech rebuild last month. I've just tried to add an agreed value of 20k on the insurance policy, but they've come back and said the market value is 15k, which i what they'd pay out in at total loss situation. Looking at the current market, there's no way a like for like replacement would be 15k?
Join PCGB and get a (free) valuation from them - insurers will accept that
I got a valuation via TIPEC in the end. They gave me a value of 22k smile
Wow indeed! Maybe I should do that as well... smile Mine is on 57k and in beautiful condition (no Hartech rebuild) & I'd have thought it was much nearer 15k than 20.

With such optimistic pricing, they could at least take more than one photo laugh

Awesome! Mine is a better colour (black), has the proper hollow spokes, has an LSD and even has the proper indicators so it must be worth even more smile

(Lets ignore the 110k miles and the crap paint)

Lovely. Do tell us how you find them..

I see Mr Bennett has a set of them ready to go on his 996 too.

Next year for me, next year. To be brutally honest, it's a bloody good car as it is. Must resist upgraditis and not over-egg the pudding..

This is my old car, sold it back in 2004 with low miles, it is a marmite colour but I really liked it. I remember changing all the lights from amber to clear!

It did not have the GT3 badge back then.

Arena red is a lovely colour in my opinion - especially in the light where it has a nice flip to it.

In other news today, mine met up with some friends..

I like the colour. But the new GT3 badge.... epic fail.

Saw a nice Arctic with Savannah R plate C2 on the A3 earlier, they really do look small compared to most traffic on the road!

The miles are no problem on a 3.4, just check it has a number of recent replacement parts (suspension, engine mounts etc) commensurate with the mileage.

Might well be a much better buy than some with half the miles.

I dunno, I'm all for high miles (mine has 110k) but I wouldn't buy one at 170k... taking it to 170k, now that's a different matter smile

We've seen cars with less miles needing a rebuild. Its still a bit of a lottery. But the entry price there looks interesting.
