No problems with hiss for me TBH - it’s just not as loud, so I have to turn it up. No harm with the Bose and sub optioned on my car though!

Do I need to look for a particular cigarette lighter size, as I said I think the 996 one is larger

I didn’t pick anything special - standard size as far as I can tell!

I have this one
ZeaLife Bluetooth FM Transmitter, Bluetooth Car Adapter with QC 3.0 Fast Charging Port Hands Free Calling Car Charger and Music Player Kit Dual USB Ports Support USB Flash Drive for iPhone/Android https://amzn.eu/d/fgdh3cV

You want one with a fast charging port BTW - modern phones suck up a lot of juice to charge and it’s much, much faster

I’ve got the opportunity to take the 996 to France in September for the Rugby World Cup, it’s just going to be me and the eldest son, so great opportunity to pop down to the Alps in the week between games.
I’m sure a few years ago I tried to get one of those devices the plug into the cigarette lighter and Bluetooth your phone to a radio frequency but if I remember correctly, it was to small as the 996 cigarette lighter is slightly bigger than normal.
Am I just imagining that or does anyone know? Also any links to a cheap website greatly appreciated.
It’s only for this one trip so not wanting to spend a lot.
What radio do you have?

These work a treat if compatible with your head unit.

How do you know.....?

Is he buying the house with you?

I hope you'll tell her gently.
I consulted my crystal ball.

Almost. We're going to live together in a double garage with our 996s.

I won't. Hopefully he will.

A whole one pound sterling. I'm not much of a gambler tbh.

"Yes honey, of course we'll buy a house together! I just need to sell the Porsche first to raise funds for the deposit, OK?" ...

Advertises the car for a mental price that he knows no one will ever be mad enough to pay.

I think he’s just chancing his luck somebody is desperate for Yellow/aero and simply whacked a ‘mental-high-price’ which he would instantly agree down to a ‘still-too-much-price’ to make the buyer feel like they got a deal… especially after the seller has already been stung by FGP-tax only a couple of years ago - ouch.

‘The other important factor was the car had to have a very high level of maintenance, as recent as possible as well and this one has that.’ - but I’m providing no details of this.

Nice reading
Appreciate the link, always a pleasure to read/watch (positive!) 996 content.

I definitely feel a recent up-swing in interest beyond just enthusiast owners, although plenty are still put off by IMS/eggs.

A lightning quick googly suggests FGP mugged him for £32k a couple of years ago but fair play to the seller having used her for +7,000 miles in that time.
Perhaps he’s charging £1 per mile he’s enjoyed?

Mug is a bit stark, is a bit stark, isn't it? Yes £32k is steep for essentially a 100k miles 996 C2, but a) it is in a rare, very desirable spec (tough not for me, I'm boring and I like black) and b) it came from a very reputable dealer and has been properly prepped and came with a warranty.

Yes, £38k for a private sale is probably a bit too high, but in the end it is worth what someone else is paying for it. And maybe the seller doesn't want to sell at all wink (oh no honey, nobody wants to buy the Porker.... I guess we stay in the rented flat and keep German Bumblebee tongue out)

My mistake, I wrongly assumed FGP don a mask and truncheon when flogging Yellow paint for £9k premiums!

100k+ mile GT3s don't come up for sale often as there's likely only one of two around. Looking at some auction results for average examples from the past year or so, I'd guess that a straight one would trade at sub £50k.

Why would someone think a C2 is worth around 20% less than a similar mileage GT3, apparently due to a colour tax, when it would otherwise be worth at least 50-60% less? Either they're totally chancing their arm, they're very misinformed regarding the market, or they don't actually want to sell.

I wonder if the seller bought it thinking it would need nothing doing and has spent another £7k on it and doesn't understand that is simply upkeep of a 20 year old Porsche, you don't get that back.

....so are you lot saying that an in-good-current-condition 100k miles 996 is worth 23k GBP?

From a trader, with warranty...

Honest question.

On the basis that I bought this immaculate 2004 C2 with 94,000 miles for much less than than that would suggest not.
