They are abrasive.

I would guess similar to a 2500 grit wet and dry paper?

When wet they also mould around all the lumps and bumps too, so you can be pretty gentle with them.

They will remove the months/years of grease, dead skin etc. off a steering wheel, seat, etc. but just be away you are removing a tiny amount of the material, or in the case of leather, top coat.

But they are great for getting things like steering wheels looking like new again.

On alcantara wheels I just use a 2000 grit paper and take it easy.

Mine got a little mouldy after it's leak, I wondered if that made it go flat. Will try a toothbrush on it if I can find an old one that's not covered in oil or dirt from scrubbing something else!
I asked the boxa lads. They like to do some cleaning.

Sonax Alcantara cleaner, damp microfibre towel and a soft leather brush.

Brush it first then use the cleaner and the damp cloth carefully, blot it dry with a dry cloth and once it is 100% dry brush again.

Normally brushing is enough to keep on top of it.

What is everyone using for a phone mount and charger? I'm looking into hardwiring a charging cable permanently rather than having cables hanging from the fag lighter.

Anyone come up with a solution for an iPhone?

That cleaning method is fine if all you need is a light clean… it won’t work if the nap is really dirty and stuck down. You need something a bit more aggressive than a soft leather brush.

I’ve been trying not to buy one of these for a while now. Currently on an ESR screen mounted one which works fine but doesn’t look great.

I saw this in my search but it doesn't solve the issue of cables hanging around (a personal pet hate).

Sorry, I only posted half what I meant too. I bought a "996 USB blank" from ebay about a year ago, I can't find them on there now though, with the plan of fitting it to the horseshoe and getting one of the hazard switch mounts from my previous post, then just a short cable between the USB and mag charger to keep things neat.

I found the new link to it last night…

I did consider the same-coincidence!

Arghh, I parked 1cm to close to the garage wall and cracked the front number plate surround, idiot.

Got me thinking, do I remember correctly that there is some sort of official Porsche classic scheme where you get Porsche classic number plate surround.

If I have that correct, anyone know how I get it?

Cheers

You sign up via your OPC, they said I didn’t get a number plate surround when I did mine.

I signed up to the Porsche Classic scheme (free) at Porsche Colchester a few months ago and was given a pair of number plate surrounds. Got the welcome pack with a nice membership card a few weeks later.
