what am I expecting to come back to if I leave my 2000 coupe from 20th dec - 7th Jan? just locking into hibernation ?
A Porsche and a queue of patient single women maybe? If you're lucky it will be in hibernation mode. Depends on how old/state of your battery. If possible (own garage) leave the trunk open to have access to the battery.

It'll be fine. I've left mine for a month and whilst the cranking is a tiny bit slow, it fires up instantly.
If it doesn't, fix it until it does.
Slow crank are signs of battery getting to end of life. Also, earth strap may need a clean. Bad start when hot, then check y-lead running from alternator/starter/jump post :-)If it doesn't, fix it until it does.

The battery is new. The reason it was slow to crank? It was -4 so the oil was thick.I don't have a problem here! The OP was asking whether they can leave the car for a short length of time..

This looks ok, I think I'd like it a little cheaper to sort out the niggles it has. MOT history isn't too bad eitherFast Bug said:
