what is an 'early' 3.4 996?

I'd agree, but there are limits to what is acceptable really. For me the mileage and time gaps on the yellow car are just to big.
Nice looking thing though.
This.Nice looking thing though.
If you're charging top dollar (or over in this case) everything needs to be 100%. I've had cars that haven't done many miles each year, but they've always been serviced annually. Oil degrades over time, rubber perishes, brake fluid needs to be changed etc.
Lovely looking thing though, but I wouldn't pay that much for it at a dealer let alone a private sale

I think we're just the wrong target market for these cars. We buy them because we want to enjoy driving them. I dont see how you could enjoy driving a really low mileage car. I dont even have a garage. I cant wrap my head around buying a low mileage garage queen and then leaving it outside.
You're probably right, I had a 924 with 6000 miles on and I felt guilty every time I drove it so I sold it and bought the 996. If I'd kept it, it would still have been serviced and MOT'd every year thoughATM said:

Agreed, you just wouldn't. Low mileage cars are for collecting not driving. They'd lose their value as soon as you started putting miles on it. Whereas mine has 112k on, cost 10 grand and gets driven just for fun whenever I fancy it

On the other hand this looks tremendous value to me - but I bet it’d still need ££££ spending to get it “right”. No sleight on the seller, just different standards and expectations (after looking at and rejecting many many cars!):

My 996 does approx 2k miles PA yet is still serviced to schedule & other things done as picked up at service/MoT. Hopefully this will pay me back (if) when I come to sell it.
Sounds very similar to what mine will be doing and I intend to keep it regularly serviced. It’s only done 29500 so far and has had fsh up till now. Smollet said:

Mines done 95k! The way I look at it, mine will probably be 19yrs old when it hits that 100k milestone so shouldn't affect the value too much hopefully. Ultimately, who cares!

Yep, same. It was MOT'd at the start of the month and had done 1,218 miles since the last one. It went in for its annual service last Aug and it'll go in for another this Aug. But I've run out of pages in the service book now so I'm not sure what to do about that !People talk about 5000 mile oil changes. They must be mad. I'm not leaving my car four years between services !

Couple of nice low miles early aero cars surfaced from the same seller. Strong money but if you don't ask you won't get I suppose.

Not far enough yet though? Seen someone on 911uk has offered 21.5k for the yellow car via eBay and had it knocked back. That's a very fair offer for me and in the ball park of what I would pay if it all stacked up. Couldn't live with the interior of the red one at any price lolIanG1 said:

No not far enough at all, but they've not been for sale for a huge amount of time. I wouldn't want to pay much more than £21500, although I'm not a fan of aerokit cars so wouldn't pay a premium for one any way Gassing Station | 911/Carrera GT | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
