what is an 'early' 3.4 996?

And if I'd be you, I would want a centre console delete. Since you already have the climate control in the upper part, it should be a doodle.
Apart from those two knobs you have. What are these for anyway? If my eyes don't betray me, you have two blind buttons, so you can possibly relocate them higher up and have no blank buttons as a bonus!

Hang on a minute with the modifications, I've only just worked out how to adjust the steering wheel (fore and aft only - no tilt?!) and that the reason the glovebox doesn't open is because it's actually the airbag. Ahem.Apart from those two knobs you have. What are these for anyway? The buttons are for the heated seats. The thought had crossed my mind to move those to replace the blank ones behind the ashtray and I had given the centre console delete some thought as the CD holder looks fantastically 1980s. But I'm not tall and the CD holder seems like quite a handy leg rest.

Nice but you should be ripping out the stereo. Why would you want to listen to that anyway?
The Beckers are really good units! The radio source is rubbish, the cr-22 tape deck is rubbish. The OE speakers will be rubbish by now, but easy to replace, I have pioneers.
I have a bluetooth adapter plugged into aux (£1.99, junked the cd changer), and use bbc iplayer radio and tunes from my phone.
The Becker actually has pretty good sound from a clean source.
Evening -
Has anyone been to see this ?

Or if not any thoughts on the car purely from the advert alone ?
Thanks

No expert at ebay - but it reads honestly enough to me.
It will be interesting to see what it makes.
Certainly looks tidy in the pics - some serious stone chips maybe in the rear of the front left arch? and the bumper respray stands out in the pictures - perhaps less so to the naked eye?
If the £200 winners deposit was paid on the understanding of `refund in full if inspection failed` then worth a punt at the right price?
The missing first service book is definitely not a plus - but by this age condition is paramount, and a book full of stamps without supporting paperwork is only marginally useful.
I would be surprised if it does not creep a bit higher before the auction ends.

Drivers door paint match looks off as well. Silver is a bugger to match, all of these will have seen a front end paint at some stage though as they do get very chippy.
I might need glasses - as I don't see the drivers door issue! - but thats why I posted it looking for others advice, so thanks. ATM said:
