I do love these Fuchs wheels. People that have bought them - are you getting genuine Fuchs? Or quality replica ones? Would be good to know some resources as rather than get my existing alloys refurbed some Fuchs would be good. Would be after 18"
Think the Fuchs looks good on an original non kitted 996.1

Things seem to be progressing with the potential purchase of the Zenith C2 I linked a couple of pages back. I'm going to take another look at it with the selling dealer to run through the list of issues flagged by the PPI that Parr did for me. There is a fairly long list of typical age-related 996 issues (all the family favourites !), so it then becomes a question of what the dealer is prepared to swallow within the asking price. Bottom line, as others have stated, this looks every inch the £20k car !!! (but it could be a very nice £20k car !).

One question - I have a set of 987.1 Cayman S PASM shocks, with H&R lowering springs, sitting in my garage. Would these potentially fit a 996 ? I realise that the PASM won't function, but it may be an acceptably cheaper short-term alternative to fitting a full new set of shocks to the 996 immediately. I am already assuming that the 996 shocks will be long past their best, whereas my old Cayman shocks appear to be in decent shape.

thanks,

Jamie
Are Cayman 987.1 PASM shocks the same as Boxster 987.1 PASM shocks?

now that seems like a very good bet for someone not 100% sure of a private sale.

That looks like a really good buy if it all checks out. I’d have seriously considered paying a deposit if I hadn’t picked up mine just 48 hours ago!

It’s actually very similar spec and money to mine, but I bought privately with 68k miles and in need of an exhaust and condensers....

I would imagine so, but am not 100% sure........ If you find the part number for the Boxster versions I can check (or you could call someone at Design 911 or similar and ask them).

Oooh, if that's still up for sale in a month or so I'll be going to view it, not far from me, nice spec, just working my notice so not the best time to spend £14k on a third car (not very PH I know!), new job starts end of July.

That can’t be far away...... I still haven’t been able to find my guards red unicorn aero kitted early 996! Do I still keep an eye out for one..... I am still I need no panic, and don’t ‘need’ one anyway... but if the history is good on that car, it’s certainly not dangerous money..

What is the vendor supposed to be like?

The photo quality on the advert looks a bit blurry or 'down scaled', perhaps to mask the true visual condition of the bodywork and interior. I can see the seats appear to show aged related cracking, perhaps its even more visible to the naked eye.

Still at £14k providing its mechanically sound is a reasonable starting point to negotiate.
