Took my 2001 3.4 C2 manual to Surrey Rolling Road today. Car is standard apart from TopGear mild exhaust and 200 cell cat system. Pretty pleased considering it’s 17 years old.
Apparently the flat spot around 5500 is not uncommon

Yours have better numbers than my old car then.

Also 2001 C2 3.4 manual (Dansk exhaust, no other mods) at Surrey Rolling Road, from two years ago:

I got that output from my Boxster also on Charlie's rollers. Was it fit and well?

I have a '99 3.4C2 manual. It too has a flat spot at 5500, though I never used to notice it until recently. Variocam affect?

Seems to be the popular reason as to why. Can’t say I really notice it too much.

[Joke mode on]
Surrey Rolling Road - not that sheet hole
[Joke mode off]

I think the 200 cell cats is significant. There are big improvements in flow to be had with decent cats especially in older cars.

Yeah, Charlie (& my mechanic) said the car was healthy. Never had an issue under my ownership. Engine was silky smooth.

My friends said the car didn’t feel slow under their ‘bum dyno’.

Aargh my bloody exhaust has gone - it was welded before and there is no more meat to weld, so need a new one. Not happy the current one (no-name "stainless") only lasted about 4 years - previous owner fitted it.

I don't mind spending money improving the car by replacing tired components, but I resent the nigh-on grand required just to replace an exhaust!

Currently mulling buying 2nd hand OEM from a breakers and getting my man to guido it .....

Top Gear are good quality and reasonably priced.

You’ll need brackets from D911 as the ones come with Top Gear ain’t great.

Just replaced by standard system with a TopGear one very pleased. I didn’t fit it so can’t comment on the brackets though

I’ll go have a look - cheers both.

Was it much louder than OEM?

Welcome to Porsche ownership biggrin

Are your brackets rotten too ? Mine were, they're incredibly expensive new from Porsche, and I couldn't find any decent s/h ones. I eventually bought some from a breakers in California. They were totally rust-free and even with shipping & duty they were cheaper than the manky s/h ones you find for sale over here.

Not sure yet, but it will all come out in the wash - just waiting on the exhaust getting delivered from Top Gear!

I was just wondering the same after seeing the car listed, rest of it doesn't look anything special?
