Congrats on the purchase.
Not sure if it helps any, but the H&R Cup suspension kit is just a rebranded Koni Sport kit. Good prices from Germany via eBay.

Finally post in this thread having been monitoring for ages.
Bought a 3.4 C4 manual it's on a 2001 plate but one of the later registered mk1 models so have the electric boot/bonnet release.
Artic silver std apart from Dansk cat back system, has been well looked after with last owner being a solicitor and before that a pga golfer so lots of good history and some preventative work done in the past (IMS/RMS) few years back.
Now on 110k had it just over a year and sailed through both MOT , part from usual service items (oil changes x 2 and air filter) it has only needed an alternator rebuild it was still charging but bearing was getting noisy and when euro car parts had 50% off sale at the last bank holiday I ordered new brembo discs and good pads front and back as the inner disc faces were getting a bit messy.
Car drives great needs a bit of paint but nothing im in a rush to do just enjoying it.
I got it from Christopher Jackson in knutsford he had actually sold the car to its last owner and after 18 months had taken it back in part ex on a 997 C4S he had in.

Thanks, by the time you've paid for shipping and fought with Customs about import duty, it's probably not much cheaper than the fully adjustable Designtek coilovers. I appreciate there is not a whole lot of feedback on the web about the quality and performance of the Designteks, but I'm sure that for a road car they will be absolutely fine. If I was going for a more track focused set-up I'd be looking at Ohlins or KW, but my intention is to get pretty close to the RPM CSR effect at a fraction of the cost. Not sure if it helps any, but the H&R Cup suspension kit is just a rebranded Koni Sport kit. I'm building up a parts order on the Design911 website, which is already up to £3.5k with the TopGear exhaust to go on top ! If we were to say £6k for all the bits and bobs fully fitted I think I will have the car where I'd like it to be. Add that on to the purchase price of the car and the wheels, I should have a pretty decent CSR equivalent for under £24k.
Whether that represents value is entirely subjective !!!

For now we are still in the EU- ordering from Germany is trivial. Order after March next year and yes, you will have issues.
ThisI've bought some parts from eBay sellers in Germany to me in the UK and it is no different to buying from UK sellers. Click click done.

I'm enjoying your pragmatic attitude in getting the car how you want. I'm building up a parts order on the Design911 website, which is already up to £3.5k with the TopGear exhaust to go on top ! We've gone slightly different routes, but I bought my aerokit at 16k and am probably at a similar figure to your calcs, after a year or so of changes. Sounds like you've got a lovely base to work with.
Have decided that ducktails are a fashion item (!), and the folded 996.1 spoiler is a core part of the identity of the car...

Just contemplating purchasing a Top Gear back box for my 3.4 996........Would you have gone for the sport version ? I was advised to go for the 'mild' version, but concerned it might be too mild ?
Yes I would - I didn't appreciate the mild would be so mild ... as soon as it was fitted and I started it, my mechanic said "I told you to get the sport!" The sport one is even cheaper.
BTW, sign up for the 911uk forum and you get 10% off (there is a code) - I missed this unfortunately.

Get the mild version and have the 200 cell cats fitted at the same time. You won’t be disappointed https://youtu.be/uH5pvRTSzk8
