Not that bothered about sunroofs either way... though probably helps with head room (I'm 6'4").

Our Touareg has a panoramic roof. Seldom gets opened, but nice to have the extra light in the cabin.

Don't want to start waving my pen is about but ... my other Porsche is a convertible and I always grab those keys if the weather is permitting some roof down action.

Any joy selling mate? I'm kind of tempted.

Nope

Lots of interest but mostly people worrying about the potential problems you might get with a 20 year old Porsche rather than the good stuff.

If you buy a 20 year old car there will be problems. That's why they're only 15 grand. If you're gonna worry about the problems and the costs then you shoudn't be buying one.

Stand firm. Buyers of 20 year old cars with a reliability reputation are few and far between. But they are out there.

The only bad news here is I still have the car. That's easy enough to deal with. I might be working in Germany soon. Maybe I should drive it over there and fly the flag for Brits in 20 year old RHD Porsches in Germany.

I need some new tyres for the snotter and have struggled to find matching front and rears, so I've got the following on the short list.

Michelin PS2
Pirelli Rosso
Conti Sport Contacts

Is anyone running these? Any thoughts as I'm all ears ears

I wouldn't touch the Pirellis with a barge pole - had a set on the rear of mine and they lasted a grand total of 2k miles before they were down to the canvas.

I've had multiple sets of both MPS2 and Cont SC2... both are very decent in wet and dry. If I had to choose, I'd go MPS2.

I'm using yoko v105 sport - fitted a few months ago - they seem fine to me (I'm a big fan of Yokohama tyres)

Fastbug is in 18s, and they don’t come in 285/30 size he has on his car.

I have 265/35 PS4 on mine, and they are very decent.

Replaced the Pirellis on mine with PS2's about 8yrs ago, never had any complaints with them.

Rears typically last about 6k miles of spirited driving, fronts considerably longer.

Go for the order you have listed. Should be matched N rated on all corners. If you can get PS4 on 18s, but not N rated for 996 - go for those. If you are PCGB member, then Pirelli did offer discount. As mentioned above, my Pirelli on a 944T were made of dark matter and could not wear them down. :-)

Michelin don't list a 295/30 PS4 annoyingly, I don't think I've heard anyone say anything good about Pirelli tyres either.

I can get £100 off Michelin tyres through Costco so going to go for a set of PS2 from them for just shy of £600 for the 4

For that price, you really can't go wrong.
