TBH I could have bought genuine for 200 of ECP myself just now (discount sale on), but he can't get those prices on trade anymore (he also got it from ECP), and I don't grudge him making a few quid off the parts as he's always there when I need him and doesn't mess me around.

Cost me 500 for the drivers side, so I'm happy!
Cost me about 80 quid and a few hours so I'm not too disappointed really.

Yeah absolutely but I watched him do it, I’ve not got the tools or the technique!

I know I could have got a cheap regulator but she’s a keeper!

Genuine window regs are £150 from eurocarparts (always buy via carparts4less with code)

Choose "VM" as brand for vehicle manufacturer.

Don't buy a cheapo one off ebay, I did and have done the job three times now - both sides and the drivers side again,

This one passes my pre-purchse quick checks on the MOT checker; consistent miles per year, only one recent fail with no miles between retests, and if that's the guys house it's a green flag indication (as in not a red flag lol), best wheels imho.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Porsche-911-996-3-4/223...

I'm also inclined to message the guy and tell him to get some paint on that Defender rear cross member also..

Ok it is a tip but still a nice example if no horror stories hiding.
As for wheels I prefer the BBS Sport classic 11

If you assume an old car like this will need a replacement box at some point and a clutch (which usually requires a dual mass fly) then you could convert it to manual. There might even be a market for the old bits or keep them till you sell.

I’ve had a Euro one fail on me too in just over a year. I’m told OPC parts is the only way to go on these sadly.

On the upside, it’s DIYable.

Get a new one. They usually never start to slip but just get heavier with time. A new one will be plush. Also with the Tip I believe the gearboxes are a bit fragile.

Just got the M030 kit fitted to my 2001C2 3.4 manual coupe. Blimey. What a difference.

I think engines with tip are supposed to be more inclined to borescore than manual ones. Something to do with starting in second. I may be wrong. It has happened before laugh

The tip is actually a Mercedes unit and very tried and tested as long as you keep up with oil and filter changes.

Believe it was in the SL and s class of the time

It goes round corners in a far more orderly fashion than the standard set up which I found to be a bit vague at times on turn in. Also even though the ride is firmer it's more comfortable to drive.
