You're not wide of the mark... .it's not too bad currently as my back is good at the moment... Maybe I can get a Stannah chair lift for it.

I take my mum in mine about once a week, she's 78 - no matter how many times, every time she gets in it, she forgets how low it is ab basically falls into the passenger seat!

Anyone know what brackets or adapters I need to fit fixed buckets. They are side mount seats. Don't need rails for sliding and want to be as low and as far back as possible.
Thanks

I hummed and hawed over this on my Honda and managed to find really low sliding rails - I’m not saying don’t go fixed but if you are really short your mechanic might struggle to get in it, or alternatively very tall and their feet can’t reach the pedals!

I’d love another bucket....

I used the d911 kit, which included sliders and also has a mount for the belt buckle.

Seemed just fine to me.

Looking forward to finally tipping over this landmark tomorrow! Been too long coming, with the car boxed in on the drive. Finally resolved to shuffle things around so the 996 is easier to get at.

I finally got the green light from the surgeon to drive again, so tomorrow I will be taking mine out for a slow gentle drive to warm both of us up again, 50 days since I have driven it

Did anything explode seconds later?

If I recall, yours is also fairly tweaked, anything else planned this year?

Need to get that speedo sorted - seems to be over-reading slightly! ;-)

No, but the alarm is currently causing a few sleepless nights. Think it's the tilt sensor, or could be the battery, as it's fairly sensitive to voltage. Going to have a dig about tomorrow evening and will report back. Volumetrics were first thought, given the interior work, but it doesn't seem to be draft related.

Plan for this year is to use it a bit more. Suspension is next on the list, and some rear tyres at some point, but neither are imminent. At some point I'll take the chairs out and pop some Pole Positions in. That's probably the last of the weight removal.

In the meantime, any excuse and it's coming out...

And yes, the Speedo over reading is a known fault tongue out

IIRC the tilt sensors can go faulty / were replaced with a different part.

Its the white box under the siren.

That's right. If the alarm is going haywire that's often the case. The tilt sensor is on a separate plug to the main alarm, and can just be pulled. It's the yellow plug if anyone is interested. They let in water / go dry. Or a variety of other failure modes. Mine is dry and the connectors are corroded.

If you remove the -ve battery lead then a 13mm ratchet removes this whole assembly with one bolt / 2 plugs. Pretty straight forward. With the tilt sensor removed it all works when plugged back in (smaller black plug).

Needless to say, no alarm wake up calls last night.

In more a more interesting area of thought... what's consensus on a set of these in a 996?

They're from the Cobra classic range, badged GT4, very similar to their RSRs (Which also come with the same finish).
About 8kgs a piece, don't look too aftermarket, Not too spendy, and fit nicely with the retro ambience I'm flirting with. I'd want them in black to match the interior.

They look a little too retro to me, but it depends what else you're doing to the car

Agreed, a bit too retro for my liking. GT3 style replicas would be my choice
